🍽️ Mealtimes don’t have to be perfect

If family meals feel messy, rushed or a little overwhelming… you’re not alone. 💛

Even small moments together matter. Sitting side by side, sharing a snack, or just being present can help children feel connected and supported.

🌿 A few gentle ideas:
• Keep it simple
• Aim for connection, not perfection
• Let children decide how much to eat
• Keep things relaxed and low-pressure

Mealtimes will look different for every family, and that’s okay.

✨ Be kind to yourself. You’re doing enough.

🌧️🌿 Outdoor play in winter? Yes, please! 🌿🌧️

It can be tempting to stay inside when it’s cold or wet, but outdoor play is still so important for little ones 💛

According to the Raising Children Network , children can play outside even when it’s cold and rainy, and these experiences support their physical health, confidence and wellbeing.

With the right clothing, the outdoors can become a place for adventure, exploration and even more fun (yes, even the muddy kind!).

✨ Simple outdoor ideas for chilly or wet days:
• Jump in puddles and make splashes 💦
• Go on a nature walk to collect leaves and sticks 🍂
• Watch the rain and explore how water moves and flows
• Try “puddle play” – float leaves or sticks and see what sinks or floats

Outdoor play gives children space to move, explore and build confidence, plus, a little mess often means a lot of learning and joy 🌈

❄️ And if you’d prefer to stay warm…
