❤️ HEARTS BEHIND THE STETHOSCOPE ❤️

For a long time now, I’ve been working alongside LifeForce with a big hope — to create my own network, Hearts Behind the Stethoscope. 🩺🐾

Why?

Because I am incredibly passionate about supporting the people behind our veterinary and pet industries — the people who care for our animals every single day, often carrying an enormous emotional load themselves.

I want to help create more conversations around mental health, su***de awareness and prevention, compassion fatigue, burnout and simply looking after the humans who look after our animals. ❤️

As part of this journey, I need to co-host an information session, and I would absolutely LOVE for you to join us.

This session is open to EVERYONE — veterinary and pet industry teams, animal rescue angels, family members, friends, supporters and anyone who cares about the wellbeing of the people working in these incredibly important industries.

Please come along, learn, listen, connect and help us start creating a community where no one feels like they have to carry it all alone.

📲 Please scan the QR code to register.

And please, please share this post with ANYONE who may benefit. You never know who might need to see it. ❤️

I will fight for my vet industry peeps forever. 🐾🩺❤️

🐾 Good morning, beautiful pet lovers! 🐾

Has anyone had their beloved fur baby tattooed on them after they passed? 🥹❤️

Or perhaps you’ve found another fabulous, meaningful way to carry your precious companion with you — a piece of jewellery, a memorial, their name, paw print, ashes, artwork, or something completely unique?

I’d love to hear about it. 💕

Please share a photo too, if you feel comfortable doing so. 📸🐾

There are so many beautiful ways we can keep our beloved pets close, even when they’re no longer physically by our side.

Let’s inspire and support one another. ❤️

🐾 Fur the Broken Hearted 💔
There are some losses that change the shape of your heart forever.
When you lose a beloved pet, you don't just lose an animal. You lose a companion, a routine, a source of comfort, a little personality who was woven into the fabric of your everyday life.
And sometimes… the hardest part is that the rest of the world seems to expect you to simply move on.
But grief doesn't work that way.
Fur the Broken Hearted is a self-help pet grief book created to gently walk beside you through the heartbreak of losing a much-loved pet.
Inside, you'll find understanding, practical support, reflections and guidance to help you navigate those overwhelming days when you're missing them more than words can explain.
It also explores the difficult decisions pet parents sometimes face, including quality of life and behavioural euthanasia, because sometimes loving them means making incredibly painful decisions on their behalf.
💔 You don't have to minimise your grief because 'they were only a pet.'
They were family.
And if your heart is broken, your grief deserves somewhere safe to go.
Fur the Broken Hearted was written to be that gentle companion when you need it most. 🐾❤️
📖 Available through Paws for Talk or Amazon
If you know someone who is grieving the loss of their precious pet, perhaps this book could be the gentle gift they didn't know they needed.

When the cold feels a little colder… 🐾💔
Is anyone else finding this cold weather is affecting their mood?
Winter can make us want to retreat, stay inside and seek out that little bit of extra warmth and comfort.
And for so many of us, that comfort used to be our pet.
The warm body beside us.
The familiar breathing.
The soft fur under our hand.
That special little snuggle that could somehow make a difficult day feel just a little easier.
But what happens when your beloved pet is no longer here?
The cold can sometimes make their absence feel even more noticeable. The empty spot on the couch. The bed without them. The instinct to reach down and pat them… only to remember they're gone.
If you're feeling particularly low this winter, please know you're not alone. ❤️
Be gentle with yourself. Make yourself a warm drink, wrap yourself in something cosy, look at those beautiful memories, and allow yourself to miss them.
Sometimes grief simply needs a little warmth too. 🐾

Happy Birthday to every horse who has touched a heart... whether you're still with us earthside or galloping free beyond the rainbow bridge.

Today we celebrate your gentle spirit, your loyalty, your strength, and the unforgettable hoofprints you've left on our hearts. Some birthdays are celebrated with carrots and cuddles, while others are honoured with cherished memories, quiet tears, and endless love.
No matter where you are, you'll always be loved, always be remembered, and always be part of someone's story.

Happy Birthday, beautiful souls.

The owner of a senior pet is often carrying a weight that few people truly see.

They're emotionally exhausted from asking themselves the same heartbreaking questions over and over again...

'When do I let them go?'
'Am I giving up too soon?'
'Am I holding on for them... or for me?'

They're physically exhausted from interrupted sleep, cleaning up accidents, lifting tired bodies, administering medications, and living in a constant state of vigilance.

They're financially exhausted from trying to do everything they possibly can for the companion who has given them a lifetime of unconditional love.

It's a burden often carried quietly.

At Paws for Talk, we understand that this isn't 'just a pet'. This is love. This is grief. This is one of the hardest decisions a person will ever make.

'Fur the Broken Hearted' is a gentle, compassionate guide created to walk beside you through this journey. It includes a Quality of Life Assessment and practical support to help you navigate these difficult conversations with greater confidence, clarity and kindness.

Because no one should have to carry this weight alone.

Available directly from Paws for Talk. Send us a DM or visit pawsfortalk.com.au.

One thing I hear so often during quality of life assessments is:

'Oh, I don't take them out anymore, they're too old'

If your pet is still comfortable enough, I encourage you to think differently.

Even if they can't walk around the block anymore, they can still enjoy the world. Pop on their lead or harness, carry them to the nearest tree or patch of grass if you need to, and let them have a good old 'sniffari.'

For our senior pets, sniffing is like us reading the newspaper or scrolling through social media. It's how they explore, process their environment, and stay mentally engaged.

Reduced mobility doesn't have to mean reduced enrichment. A few minutes of sniffing and taking in the sights, sounds, and smells can provide wonderful mental stimulation and may have a positive impact on their overall wellbeing.

Growing older doesn't mean they stop enjoying life's simple pleasures, it just means we sometimes need to help them experience them a little differently. ❤️🐾

Charlie absolutely smashed his training walk around the lake this morning!

The only problem?
Once we finished, he was trying very hard to negotiate a month off from exercise.

Keeping a Labrador slim isn't just about the walks... it's about winning the daily negotiations with a professional food enthusiast! 🐾💛

Grief doesn’t have a timeline. Be kind !

When someone you work with loses a beloved pet, they don't leave their grief at the front door when they return to work. They often come back carrying a heartbreak that few people can see.
As leaders, managers and colleagues, we have an opportunity to do more than simply say, 'Welcome back.' We can create a workplace where people feel genuinely supported during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
Some simple ways to make a lasting difference:
• Say their pet's name. It acknowledges that their companion mattered and that their grief is real.
• Don't dismiss their loss. Avoid phrases like, 'It was just a dog,' or, 'At least you can get another one.' There is no 'just' when it comes to someone we love.
• Check in with kindness. A simple, 'I've been thinking about you. How are you doing today?' can mean more than you'll ever know.
• Offer grace. Grief affects concentration, energy and emotions. A little flexibility can make a world of difference.
• Remember that grief has no timeline. Healing isn't measured in days of leave. Everyone's journey is different.
The people who feel genuinely cared for after losing a cherished companion often remember that kindness for years to come.
Leadership isn't measured only by how we celebrate success. It's measured by how we show up when someone is carrying unimaginable loss.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply acknowledge their love, say their pet's name, and let them know they don't have to carry their grief alone. ❤️
