The Ballan Shire Historical Society held their Christmas get together at The Plough Inn Myrniong last Sunday
We all enjoyed a very nice lunch , which was followed by a video presentation of the Myrniong trail by Ruth Mills
Ruth has compiled the Myrniong trail , which gives a brilliant history of Myrniong in an on screen presentation.

Yesterday our Historical Society received a grant from Pacific Hydro ,who conduct the Yaloak South wind farm .
The grant was for $550 to erect a new sign at our Old cemetery to replace the faded sign that had been erected by the society many years ago.
Many thanks to Pacific Hydro for the grant.
The presentation was held at the Beremboke Recreation Reserve,where we all enjoyed a nice morning tea.
The society were represented by Rick Biden and Eddie and Jessie Davis and myself.

Our Society will be having an Open Day at the old Ballan Courthouse for the Hide + Seek Festival on Saturday 2nd November from 10 am to 3 pm.
There will be heritage displays, people on hand to answer questions, and two conducted walks along Inglis St., one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Our heritage database will be available and there will also be a table of second-hand books for sale by donation.
Refreshments will be available, and of course, entry is free.
Come along and seek out the history of our beautiful little friendly town and surrounding areas.
It should be noted that the conducted walks will commence from the Courthouse at 11 am and at 2 pm.
