Friends of Sassoon Yehuda We provide chesed (kindness), help and support to those in need, in the Melbourne Jewish community through food distribution, and outreach programs.

We are affiliated with the Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue.

🎶 What a joy it has been to meet parents, grandparents and their beautiful children, each Friday morning at Little Shabbat with Morah Ilana, over the past few weeks!

💙Shabbat Candle Project – bring a little Shabbat into your home. We have beautiful complimentary candle packs available to take home. DM for more info.

This special project was created and designed by our President, Joanne Levy, with a big thank you to Angela Stein for her help in packing the candle packs.

We have been busy cooking and creating meals for those in need. We now have tomato and lentil soup and bread, delicious soups from Kleins, and meals in a bag made by the students of Beit Hillel.

What a wonderful inaugural event we had for the Sephardi Jewish Women’s Cooking Club. With our cultural heritages stemming from Egypt, Greece, Iran, India, and beyond it was really special to meet and bake together.

For this catch up we made rosquette biscuits/kaka in loving memory of Marcelle Levi z’. And we thank her grandniece, Hadas, who spoke about Marcelle as well as guided us in making the most delicious biscuits.

Thank you to everyone who came today, and made it such a successful event. And for those who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you at the next one.
