'Evo' brings a youthful enthusiasm mixed with a mature coaching outlook, that will reignite the playing group, and is a valuable addition to the senior coaching group of Lollies, Johnno and Hammo.

Bakers Creek Tigers announce LUKE HAMMOND to the position of Development Coach for season 2026.

'Hammo' won our Senior Men Best and Fairest award in 2016, with one of his most valuable assets being setting the standard and leading by example on the training track, a skill we look forward to him bringing to the playing group this season. He will also serve as Runner for our Senior Men on match day.

He brings a wealth experience from his playing days which saw him reach the pinnacle of the AFL with the Brisbane Lions as well as experience with WAFL side Peel Thunder and a decorated career with his home club at Yarrawonga.

Bakers Creek Tigers announce GLENN 'LOLLIES' BYRON and ANDREW 'JOHNNO' JOHNSTONE as joint Senior Men Coaches for season 2026!

Lollies played over 200 games in country Victoria, including 34 with Bakers Creek. He was our Senior Men Coach from 2020 to 2022, Senior Men Assistant Coach in 2018, 2019, 2024 and 2025, and Premiership Senior Women Assistant Coach in 2025.

Johnno is a previous Bakers Creek Tigers Club Person of the Year and has had a very successful coaching career with the Moranbah Bulldogs, which includes multiple Under 17's Premierships

AFLW comes to Mackay today, with the Gold Coast Suns playing the Western Bulldogs at the Great Barrier Reef Arena.

Representing the Gold Coast Suns is Bakers Creek Tigers own #2 LAUREN BELLA - 'Lol' was an integral part of the Tigresses 2018 Finals campaign.

Also playing is #15 WALLIS RANDELL - 'Wall' played a few games in the Black and Yellow with her sister Eve, who is a Tigress Premiership player!

Both are great role models and inspiration to the young ladies currently playing in Mackay and for the Bakers Creek Tigers!
