A huge thank you to the incredible team at Dahlsens Building Centre – Bairnsdale Branch for your generous donation of a gate and fencing materials to our group 🙌

Thanks to your support, and one of our fantastic parents, we’ve been able to make our loft area safe and secure for our young people. It’s partnerships like these that help us continue to provide a safe, fun, and adventurous environment for our Scouts to learn and grow.

🌿⚓ Supporting Sustainability at the Paynesville Classic Boat Festival! ⚓🌿

What a fantastic weekend at the Paynesville Classic Boat Festival! Our amazing youth and families were out in force, proudly helping the community keep this iconic event clean and green.

Even more special — Saturday was Clean Up Australia Day, making our sustainability efforts even more meaningful. Throughout the festival, our young people supported rubbish disposal, helped visitors sort recyclables, and worked hard to keep the grounds tidy. ♻️💚

They showed wonderful teamwork, leadership and true Scout spirit while caring for our beautiful local environment.

While we’ve shared a few photos, there were many more Joeys, Cubs and Scouts who volunteered their time across the weekend along with their families who aren’t pictured — and we are just as proud of every single one of you! 👏

A few very special thank yous starting with Carlye from The WasteNot Movement who many of you will recognise from the Howitt Park Markets for her amazing support and guidance.

Next thankyou goes to our incredible Leaders and parents/guardians for your support — from helping on the day to coordinating drop-offs, pick-ups and encouragement behind the scenes. We couldn’t do it without you.

A final big thank you as well to the festival organisers and volunteers who made us feel so welcome.

🎄 Merry Christmas from Bairnsdale Scout Group

As we wrap up another fantastic year of adventures, learning and growth, we want to extend our warmest wishes to our incredible leaders, youth members, families and supporters.

Thank you for your dedication, enthusiasm and support throughout 2025. From campfires to community service, badges earned to friendships forged, it's been a year to remember.

We hope you all enjoy a safe and happy festive season with your loved ones. We look forward to more exciting Scouting adventures together in 2026!

Bairnsdale Scout Group are always on the lookout for spares and would gladly help give them a new home.

Current uniform only (Shirts or Scarfs) in good, clean and serviceable condition.

Bairnsdale Scout Group had a fantastic time as part of the Bairnsdale Christmas Parade today.
It was great to see so many people turn out to watch and support the event - despite the damp weather.

Bairnsdale Joey Scouts were busy building and decorating insect houses. These are part of their Junior Landcare grant learning about the Redgum Plains West of Bairnsdale and improving the areas biodiversity.

A big thanks to Gippsland Waters Canoe Club for the donation of 3 canoes, paddles and accessories to the Bairnsdale Scout Group. The club is now in retirement and was pleased the canoes now have a new home. Our scouts will have many hours of fun adventure in them.

🚩 Bairnsdale Scouts New Navigation & Safety Gear
Thanks to a generous grant from East Gippsland Shire Council, the Bairnsdale Scout Group has strengthened its outdoor kit with essential navigation and safety equipment — including compasses and a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).

This new gear will support our youth members on adventurous activities such as hiking, camping, paddling, caving, abseiling, and skiing - helping them build skills and explore the outdoors with greater confidence and safety.

The new equipment has already been out in the field with a Scout Project Patrol who recently carried the PLB and used the compasses on their 3‑day, 2‑night Adventurous Journey Hike through the stunning Lakes National Park near Loch Sport.

For Scouts, the Adventurous Journey is a vital step toward the Australian Scout Award - the highest achievement in the Scout section. It requires the Scouts involved to plan, risk assess, and lead the journey themselves, applying the Outdoor Adventure Skills they’ve developed throughout their Scouting experience. The ability to confidently navigate on the trail and safeguard the group is essential - and has been strengthened through this new equipment.

We’re proud to see our young people stepping up, leading with resilience, and embracing the spirit of adventure in the wonderful outdoors our region has to offer.

The Bairnsdale Scout Group sincerely thanks the East Gippsland Shire Council for their generous support, which has made this important equipment upgrade possible.
