💛 R U OK? DAY 2026 – LET’S START THE CONVERSATION 💛
Thursday 10th September 2026 is R U OK? Day — a National Day of Action reminding us that checking in with the people around us can make a real difference.
R U OK? encourages us to stay connected and have meaningful conversations with people who may be going through life’s ups and downs. A simple “Are you OK?” can be the start of a conversation that helps someone feel heard, supported and cared for.
💬 Did you know?
• 9 in 10 people who are asked, “Are you OK?” say they feel grateful, cared about, and supported.
• 1 in 4 people may hesitate to ask someone if they think they’re struggling — so trusting your instinct and starting the conversation can be important.
• You don't need to have all the answers. Listening without judgement and showing that you care can be a powerful first step.
• R U OK? encourages us to Ask R U OK? Any Day — not just on 10 September.
💛 COME & SEE THE HCSS TEAM
To help bring the message into our local community, the Housing & Community Support Service (HCSS Teaam) will be set up outside the Burdekin Community Association Inc. (BCA) The Support Centre on Thursday 10th September from 9am.
Come by, say hello, have a chat, check in, and connect. We'll also have information and helpful resources available for community members.
