The ‘Get Me to the Shops!’ weekly community bus is continuing free travel inJune. The bus runs from Avenel to Seymour every Thursday morning. Join the bus at Avenel Railway Station at 9.15am or ph. John Thomson 0439 269 799 to book pick-up from home. Bookings must be made before 6.00pm each Wednesday. We return to Avenel by 12 noon. Available to all Avenel residents. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Usual return $5 fare will resume from 1 July

2026-27 Strathbogie Shire Council Community Grants are now open for application until 31 May 2026:
1. Community Strengthening Grants of up to $10,000 to support community groups and creatives to implement accessible community projects.
2. Sustainability Grants of up to $20,000 for energy saving initiatives at community-managed, Council-owned facilities, and by reducing waste going to landfill.
