We want to give a huge shoutout to Chuck Wright, one of our incredible shavees for this year’s Avalon Braves the Shave!
Chuck is currently our top event fundraiser, having already raised an amazing $2,000 and closing in on his goal of $2,500! Even more inspiring—at 91 years old, Chuck may be setting the record as this year’s oldest shavee. His bravery, dedication, and generous spirit truly embody what this event is all about: coming together to make a difference.

Luis is in Brayden’s class and is stepping up in a BIG way! He’ll be shaving his head in solidarity with kids battling this awful disease — and to stand by his friend Brayden, who bravely fought it.

At just 5 years old, Luis is already making an incredible impact in our community. How amazing is that?! 👏✂️

Last year, these incredible kids made one of the bravest choices you can make… they shaved their heads. 💚✂️
Not because they had to.
Not because they were sick.
But because they wanted children battling cancer to know one powerful thing:

You are not alone.

They may not be fighting cancer, but they are standing shoulder to shoulder with the real warriors — showing their friends and peers that it’s okay to be bald, it’s okay to be different, and no one fights alone.
It takes courage to give up your hair.
It takes heart to stand up for someone else.
Kids can be brave. Kids can make a difference. And when they sign up to shave, they’re sending a powerful message of love, strength, and solidarity. We are PROUD of our young heroes!
