Harvest Lakes Residents Association is looking for local artists to beautify a wall in the community centre! If you know someone, or if you are an artist, make sure you reach out!

👨‍🎨Artists wanted 🧑‍🎨

We are excited to announce that with support from the City of Cockburn we are about to commence the process for a new mural on the wall of the Harvest Lakes Community Centre Environmental Outdoor area.

Our first step is to find an artist. We are currently seeking local artists who would like to participate in the expression of interest process for the mural - If this is you, please send us an email at [email protected] to be included in the process.

Our next step will be to work out the design. Community consultation will begin shortly to allow the community to have their say on what they would like to see included in the design. ☺️

We look forward to working with the community on this exciting project!

Truly thank you everyone who has supported this campaign!

With results having come in and not succeeding in getting elected, I wanted to reflect on the campaign and the people who helped out!

Before thanking the incredible people who so graciously donated their time to this campaign, I wanted to say that I am so grateful for the many people who I have been so lucky to meet, hear their stories, and connect with. There are so many stories I wish I could tell but there just isn't enough time in this world to share them! It was such an incredible experience to run for East Ward and I am absolutely determined to continue to be connected with and advocate for the community.

A massive thank you to the following people:
Sarah Davis - who is a truly incredible human being and without her we wouldn't have even gotten this campaign up and running. I am so humbled to have received the incredible support from such an amazing person!
Ric Cairns - who donated his time to create the incredible graphics that everyone has been seeing throughout this campaign (including this post). I am truly truly thankful for your willingness to donate so much of your time, completely free of charge, to help out this campaign!
Wilf - who was extremely kind to offer his address to authorise all of our campaign materials!
Thomas Earnshaw - who is an phenomenal film maker and pulled together our launch video (that I still absolutely love) in such a short time, and for his lovely photos that we have used throughout the campaign.
Joshua - a fellow young person who contributed so much time to this campaign, doing so much that I cannot list everything! Thank you so much for the amount of effort that you poured into this campaign!
Blake - thank you so much for donating your time to help film so much social media content (a lot of which has not seen the light of day), it was so much fun making those videos with you!
Mooba - thank you so much for your support and endorsement!

And to every single person who donated, participated in the launch video, or volunteered, thank you so very much, I will forever be grateful for your support!

This campaign succeeded in so much, it was never just about winning, it was always about increasing engagement and actually listening to the community 💙

With a short City of Cockburn Ordinary Council Meeting coming up this Tuesday, October 14, 2025, here's a look at the items + recommendations on the agenda:
- Authorising of the amendment of the 2025-26 Municipal Budget which includes adjustments to operating expenditure and revenue, capital expenditure, income, and reserve transfers (to be voted in absolute majority)
- Receival of the list of payments made by the City and of transactions paid by credit and other types of purchase cards during the month of August 2025
- Adoption of the Monthly Financial Report including the Statement of Financial Activity and other financial information for the month ending August 2025
- Deliberation on a motion presented to the council surrounding the issue of the activation of Cockburn Central Town Square (The Sliding) including the receival of a report of options for the reactivation
