🌿The Hanging Basket Competition is in full bloom for 2026 — celebrating creativity, colour, and the joy of gardening across our Tablelands community. Proudly sponsored by Burrawong Garden Nursery, Malanda.

🌱 Open to all ages and skill levels, this competition invites entrants to design a living hanging basket that showcases innovation, sustainability, and the beauty of plants suited to our region. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or trying something new, your creativity is welcome.

🖍️ The Colouring Competition is back for 2026 — a fun challenge inviting artists in the 3–5 years, 6–8 years, 9–12 years and All Abilities categories to bring the official Atherton Show colouring sheet to life in their own unique style. This year, we celebrate the UN International Year of the Women Farmer.

🎨 Open to 3–12 years and All Abilities* (*for those with a disability from birth, acquired, or due to ageing), the colouring competition is designed to encourage creativity, confidence, and artistic expression. Whether it’s bold colours, careful shading, or imaginative details, every entry celebrates the talent of all exhibitors!

⏰ Download, print and start colouring! Remember to deliver your artwork to the Atherton Show Office or Far North Chiropractic - Atherton & Mareeba by Tuesday, 23rd June 2026 at 4 PM.

Workshop creations will be used for the Enchanted Fields Sensory Space at the 2026 Atherton Show.

Registrations are essential 👉 trc.qld.gov.au/sensory-space-youth-art-workshop.

📅 9am–12 noon Friday 17 April

Arrive anytime between 9am and 12 noon. Workshop finishes at 12 noon.

What an inspiring morning at our Fields of the Future – Meet the Growers Morning Tea. Thank you to our guest speakers, Angela Nason (Tablelands to Tabletop), Ebony Faichney (Farmour) and Angela Toppin AM - Mayor, Mareeba Shire Council for sharing their stories, insights, and vision for the future of agriculture on the Tablelands. Their leadership reflects exactly what the UN International Year of the Woman Farmer is all about — innovation, resilience, and the vital contributions women make across our agrifood systems. We are also grateful to Lorraine Stopford and all of the staff at Rocky Creek Orchards for their participation in recording our prototype video that was shared (produced by Widescreen Stories).
We are also deeply grateful to the local businesses and supporters who donated raffle prizes, showbag samples, and lucky door gifts. Your generosity helped create such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and made the morning even more special for everyone who attended.
These wonderful conversations and ideas will help shape our 2026 Atherton Show and the Canopy of Innovation — a celebration of the women who grow, create, and inspire our region. Thank you to all who joined us and contributed to this beautiful beginning.
