You’ve been the key driver behind so many of RAA’s achievements, and you’ve made such a huge impact in the lives of hundreds of dogs and the humans who love them.

It’s time to shine a light on this incredible human - Cecelia, our Operations Manager!

This week, Cecelia single-handedly organised the fundraising, logistics and carers for the dogs coming in from Cooktown pound. That might sound simple, but there is an incredible level of planning and creativity needed to pull off a successful remote rescue mission. And to do it all herself, with literally zero input from myself and Jessie, just proves how competent and dedicated Cecelia is. What a legend! 🎉

Of course, this is just one example of why we’re so lucky to have her on our team. Cecelia handles all kinds of chaos with grace and calm on the daily - getting the absolute best outcomes for our furry friends and the communities we work with.

We’re so grateful to have you on our team, and can’t wait to see you flourish in the next iteration of your role (we’ve got an exciting announcement to share soon!) 🧡🐶🐾

🧡 TRANSPORTED SORTED!

🚗🐾 COOKTOWN → CAIRNS TRANSPORT NEEDED 🐾🚗

The funds are secured and our two Cooktown boys have officially been given the green light to come into RAA care! 🧡

Now we need someone to help us go and get them.

We're looking for a volunteer who can help transport both boys from Cooktown to Cairns as soon as we can arrange it.

🐾 Crates can be provided
⛽ Fuel covered by RAA

Or, if you're already travelling Cooktown → Cairns and have room for two extra passengers, we'd love to hear from you too!

Pick a Paw is now closed! 🐾🎉

A few early birds got in and selected a paw, and then one incredibly generous supporter offered to pledge the remaining amount needed to get our Cooktown boys over the line in honour of her beautiful Willow. 🥹🧡

Together with everyone's support, we've now reached our $1,660 target!

Thank you so much to every single person who pledged, shared, commented and helped us get these boys to YES.

Thanks to some wonderful humans, we already have $510 pledged towards the $1,660 we need to get both boys from Cooktown, through their time in care and eventually onto their flights south. 🧡

🧡 Thank you so much to everyone who has pledged towards getting these two boys out of the Cooktown pound and into RAA care. We have had $300 in pledges so far. We're making progress, but we still have $1,360 to find before we can say yes.

🐾 TWO BOYS ARE READY FOR THEIR SECOND CHANCE 🐾

Two boys are currently waiting in the Cooktown pound, and we'd love to be able to say YES and bring them into RAA care. 🧡

Before we can commit to taking them, we need to know we can cover the costs of getting them from Cooktown, through their time with RAA and eventually onto their flight south to our rehoming partners.

Here's what we're expecting to cover for both boys:

⛽ Transport from Cooktown – $200
💉 Vaccinations – $280
🐾 Preventatives – $160
🧡 Food & supplies while in care – $200
✈️ Flights to our rehoming partners – approx. $820

TOTAL: $1,660

🐾 A few happy updates from some familiar faces! 🧡

⭐ ALFIE

It's official – Alfie has been adopted! 🥳

His foster family have decided they simply can't let him go, so we think it's safe to call this one a foster fail. 🧡

Alfie unfortunately tested postive for heart worm but is doing really well and has now started his heartworm treatment. He's also on a joint supplement and has begun a rehab program to help rebuild strength in his back legs.

As you can imagine, his remaining back leg can get a bit tired and unstable after a long day of being a dog so his new family are doing everything they can on working to build up his strength and we're hopeful he'll continue getting stronger as he recovers.

Alfie is home! And this time, it's officially forever. 🧡🐾

⭐ RINGO, PATCH & COPPER!

Another exciting update – Ringo, Copper and Patch are heading south later this week! ✈️🐾

You might remember that just a short time ago, we weren't even sure whether we'd be able to bring these boys into care but thanks to the incredible support we received, we were able to say yes!

From waiting in community for their chance to now being just days away from the next stage of their journey – we're pretty excited for these boys. 🧡

The wonderful team at Infinity Tablelands have dedicated an entire corner of their store to raising funds for Remote Animal Assistance.

Items are donated, sold through the store, and 100% of the money raised comes directly to RAA to support our ongoing rescue and prevention work in remote Far North Queensland communities.

So you can clear out something you no longer need, help it find a new home AND help us care for more animals at the same time.

Over the weekend, we reached out and asked for your help in getting these guys out of community and into the next stage of finding their forever homes.

Thanks to some incredibly generous supporters, we already have $1550 of our $1,500 target PLEDGED. That means we have $0 left to find before we can say yes and bring all three into RAA care.

There isn't an emergency surgery or a heartbreaking medical story behind this fundraiser. They're vaccinated. They're desexed. They're microchipped. They're ready to go. 🧡

Now we just need to get them there.

Before we can commit to bringing Copper, Ringo and Patch into care, we need to know we can cover their transport from their remote community, care while they're with RAA, and their eventual flights south to our rescue partners.
