At sundown in the remote community of Kaltukatjara, aka Docker River, a couple of locals came over to say hello. As the sky turned red and it got darker they turned and trotted off. Life in a sleepy place.

As we begin our traveling year, it is inspiring to watch this video of Jimmy at Galiwinku NT. His words ring true. When you sit and listen and soak up the atmosphere, the reason for being there becomes clear. Looking forward to seeing our friends and supporters in communities all across Australia.

I first met Charlie King in early 2000. I was reminded that he was not the same guy I had replaced in The Angels but he became an Angel. Charlie, a well known sports and radio personality established No More, to bring attention to the disturbing amount of domestic violence that was occurring in the Territory. Thumbs up helped spread the no More word in places like Wadeye and Uluru working with strong men , women and teenagers to help change the mind set of those who perpetrate that disgusting violence. See in the attached article the birth of DVAP’s aka domestic violence action plans. Charlie is a true Angel, and we applaud his continued commitment. It was great to see him in Darwin and present him with a copy of No Secrets to give away on his radio show.

THe Mutitjulu band received new gear via a grant from Novo Nordisk Here they are at a recent community concert. The band is recording new music with producer Graham Bidstrup The Music Buzz and will appear at the 40th anniversary of the Uluru handback on the weekend of Oct 25th. Congratulations to the kids from the Mt Druitt Music 4 U program who performed a song today at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Mount Druitt Community Health Centre - WSLHD. They wrote the song with Graham Bidstrup and Josh Needs and performed it to perfection. Congrats to MDCHC celebrating 50 years of service today. Thanks to Novo Nordisk for funding the program and Western Sydney Local Health District for all the support. We will do it again later this year.

Last day in Cairns and thanks to the organisers of the conference I spent a few hours on stunning Green Island listening to stories from the locals and enjoying a lovely lunch
