We’re proud to share the success of Project Upskill at headspace Ashfield 👏

This initiative supported young people to gain key qualifications including RSA, First Aid/CPR, and RCG, helping build their confidence and opening doors to employment in industries like hospitality 🤩

Programs like this make a real difference by giving young people practical skills they can use straight away to find and secure work 😀

A huge thank you to the Inner West Council for their support through the Community Wellbeing Grant, this would not have been possible without you 🙏

Project Upskill has been a great success and a strong way for headspace Ashfield to close out Work and Study Month. We’re excited to see our young people now trained, confident, and ready to step into the workforce 🙌💚

Here are some great tips about supporting a young person when the normal emotion of anger comes up for them 😡🤬🤯👍🤗🥰

Family (whatever that may mean for the young person), parents, carers, friends, loved ones etc, they all play such an important role in supporting a young person as they grow into a healthy, mature adult 💚

If you need some more support around this, if your young person is struggling more than usual, or if you’re a young person and your anger (or any other emotion) is too overwhelming for you to cope with on your own (which isn’t uncommon!), please reach out to us at headspace Ashfield to support you through this! Call us on (02) 9193 8000 💚🫶💚

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion. It can help us deal with difficult situations and understand what matters to us. When anger builds up or spills over, though, it can start to hurt the person experiencing it and the people and things that they care about.

Family can play an important role in building a young person’s self-awareness, supporting emotional expression, and strengthening their sense of safety and connection. Family here includes biological, chosen, cultural, and community family.

Noticing your own expectations and staying curious about how a young person expresses anger can help reduce misunderstandings and build connection.

Here are 5 tips to try when responding to a young person who may be experiencing anger.

We recently supported Burwood Police Area Command at their Juice with a Youth event at Westfield Burwood, where we had the chance to chat with young people individually over a free juice! We love the work our local police are doing, making meaningful connections with our young people in the community (and we don’t mind the “bribe” of a free juice!! Thanks for shouting Burwood PAC!!) 🤗👍💚
