Unfortunately, the Repair Café hasn’t been running for quite some time, and Moonee Valley Sustainability also stopped being involved at the end of 2024. They retained a substantial amount of money that had been donated specifically for the Moonee Valley Repair Café.
I wasn’t able to find enough volunteers or ongoing support to keep the event running. Towards the end of 2024, a close friend of mine was dying, and I needed to focus my time and energy there. During that period, despite several members of Moonee Valley Sustainability being aware of the situation, I received very little support in keeping the event going.
You may find more active, genuine and welcoming community events elsewhere.
There are Repair Cafés operating in Pascoe Vale, Brunswick and Darebin that might suit you well.
