27 May to 3 June marks National Reconciliation Week, a time to reflect, learn and continue strengthening understanding, respect and connection across our communities.
These dates recognise two important moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey, the successful 1967 Referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
This week is also an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the strength, knowledge, continuing presence and the world’s oldest continuing cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while considering how we can each contribute to the ongoing reconciliation journey.
This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation asks all of us to keep listening, learning, reflecting, celebrating, challenging ourselves and our networks, and taking meaningful action within our everyday lives and communities.
At headspace Armstrong Creek, we remain committed to creating spaces where young people and their support networks feel safe, welcomed, connected and supported.
