POV: Admin juggling 100 tasks... but the rest of the team has 100 “quick questions” 🫣🫢🫶

We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing admin team holding the fort down every single day. From keeping the centre running smoothly to always helping us out (even when they’re already juggling a million things), we appreciate everything you do 💚

It’s the final 2 days of the Push-Up Challenge 💚

As we approach the finish line, we wanted to acknowledge everyone currently involved in the challenge. Whether you’re smashing out push-ups, raising funds, sharing posts or helping to encourage conversations around mental health and help-seeking, thank you for being part of something so meaningful.

Together, we’ve been raising awareness, starting important conversations and supporting better mental health within our local community. A reminder that fundraising will remain open for a further two weeks following the end of the challenge, with funds raised through our local headspace Armstrong Creek team supporting young people and their families to access practical supports, including material and food aid.

If you would like to learn more, get involved or donate, see the link in our bio.

Big ups to everyone involved and to those continuing to openly support conversations around mental health and wellbeing. Let’s finish strong ⭐️

27 May to 3 June marks National Reconciliation Week, a time to reflect, learn and continue strengthening understanding, respect and connection across our communities.

These dates recognise two important moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey, the successful 1967 Referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.

This week is also an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the strength, knowledge, continuing presence and the world’s oldest continuing cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while considering how we can each contribute to the ongoing reconciliation journey.

This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation asks all of us to keep listening, learning, reflecting, celebrating, challenging ourselves and our networks, and taking meaningful action within our everyday lives and communities.

At headspace Armstrong Creek, we remain committed to creating spaces where young people and their support networks feel safe, welcomed, connected and supported.

The theme for this year’s National Sorry Day is “From Sorry to Action”.

The message is clear, we must move beyond words and continue taking meaningful action towards healing, truth telling and justice, now and into the future.

Acknowledging past harms and the ongoing impacts experienced by Stolen Generations survivors and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is important, but action and accountability must continue alongside this.

On 26 May, we at headspace Armstrong creek encourage our community to reflect, learn and stand together in support of ongoing reconciliation, healing and change.

The Push Up Challenge is fast approaching and we would love for you to get involved 💚

This June, we are inviting our Surf Coast and Geelong community to come together, move, connect and support better mental health through The Push Up Challenge.

Whether you join with friends, your school, workplace, sporting club, community group or simply take part yourself, every push up, walk, squat, surf or conversation helps create more awareness and connection within our community.
