✨ Armadale Joeys – Term 1 Kick‑Off! ✨
On Tuesday, our Armadale Joeys — with a few awesome Cub youth helpers — had their first night back for Term 1, and what a brilliant start it was! We jumped straight into a Back to Basics session, tying in beautifully with our Personal Growth Challenge Area.
Two of our Cubs opened the night with confidence, setting the tone for a great session. We revisited who BP is (Robert Baden‑Powell, the founder of Scouts) and played a fun game of Hunting BP to bring the story to life.
Together, we talked about our rules, boundaries, and expectations at Scouts, and created our very own Joey Unit Code. Meanwhile, our Cubs set up an amazing obstacle course outside. Using the buddy system — one person blindfolded — our Joeys navigated the course with teamwork and trust. Leaders added a few twists along the way, giving us a chance to use Plan‑Do‑Review and chat about how the patrol system works.
To finish the night, we played Farmer Sam, with one of our awesome Joeys taking the lead and running the game like a pro. Closing was done by another brilliant scout, with our Scout Leader Kiwi supporting our Joey‑in‑Training, as they learned how to handle the flag.
It was a fantastic start to the term — full of learning, laughter, and leadership.
A huge thank you to all our youth, adults, helpers, and carers for making the night such a success. Here’s to an amazing Term 1 ahead! 🌟
