Great to have Fraser Ellis MP drop in to see for himself what we have achieved since his last visit.
No fanfare or expectations, just genuine interest in what we are doing. Don't see that very often.
He's always supported us in our efforts to improve our facilities that give our members a place to keep themselves stimulated and connected to the community.
We much appreciate his honest and continued help in our group ever since we created the Shed.

Pleased to say we've got the Ardrossan Market on Friday 3rd of April at the carpark in West Terrace..
A great place to see the talents of those who exhibit their products and support them.
Plenty of things to buy, eat and enjoy.
See you there!

We've just completed a covered ramp to the front of our Shed.
We received a grant from the Yorke Peninsula Council under their Access program that funds projects that improve access for those with mobility issues.
We greatly appreciate the support of the Council in providing for this project.
Some of the funds were provided by the ACAMS group to ensure the safety of members and improve access by gophers, wheelchairs and walking sticks that aid them in engaging with the community.
The paving was done by Matt Ling of Landscape Solutions who did a great job for us.
The success of this work is important to us as one of our members injured himself when he tipped over his gopher while negotiating a walkway ramp in a town pathway.

We have been lucky to receive a grant for the purchase of an high volume air compressor that will enable us to operate a sandblasting cabinet and other air operated equipment.
This was enabled through the Yorke Peninsula Council Community Grants scheme that supports local community groups which is invaluable to our group and very much appreciated.
Here we have Cr Richard Curruthers come along to see the outcome of the Councils support along with Russel Nankivel (our metal magician) and Kevin Betterman - Secretary of ACAMS.

We began building 4 Osprey Nesting Frames in early 2021 - and now we've made 17 (with these two). They were built to ensure the survival of these amazing creatures (and this project has been vindicated by the success of the breeding pairs. They've been installed on both sides of the Yorke Peninsula and both sides of Eyre Peninsula as well as on the outskirts of Adelaide.
Our people are proud to have been involved in this project and take great interest and pleasure in seeing the success of the program.
We took the opportunity to show these two off to our local member for our area - Fraser Ellis MP when he dropped in to see what we've been up to.

What have we been up to lately?

The Price Tractor Pull event is on August 2nd and 3rd 2025. Believe me, an event not to miss!
For this we were asked to restore an old toy tractor for the kids to use at the Tractor Pull - but it was beyond repair.
So our blokes thought they'd build a whole new one. Not that we ever overdo things, but we couldn't resist it!

Today (Monday 9th December), we handed it and a sled to go behind it. Both were made to match the monster farm machines that pull a heavy sled until they can't pull it any further.
The difference is that the big tractors are many hundreds of horsepower - while this is only one childpower.

We are proud to be able to support and participate with the local community groups in this way - and our blokes just love to get involved.
So we had a handover today with a trio of kids to test drive it, a resounding success!
