RED SHIELD APPEAL

The Red Shield Appeal to raise money for the community is currently running. If you would like to donate to your local area, you can go to the Ararat or Stawell Thrift Shops who will be taking donations. Your donation will go to those that need it the most. We thank you for your continued support.

Greater Grampians Salvos
With Ararat City Band
Red Shield Appeal Fundraiser

at 2 pm, 17th May, 2026, 88 High St, Ararat
Ararat City Band, in support of Greater Grampians Salvos, invite you to an afternoon of brass band music, showcasing a vast variety of songs, including movie themes, rock, pop and gospel.
The concert will be followed by afternoon tea of scones, pancakes and treats, jam and cream, etc, with gluten free available.
COST: $10 per person. Concession and groups of 5 plus available. Book your space by texting your name, phone number and number of seats to 0400 797 433, or QR code to reserve seats. All tickets paid at the door, EFTPOS available.
All funds will go to the Red Shield Appeal, with all money staying in our community to help those in need.

Cr Jenny Greenberger, Northern Shire council gave a supporting speech congratulating the Salvation Army on an exciting new centre.

Sunday - Spiritual Day
Celebrating the opening together through reflection, prayer and fellowship. The day commenced with the Stawell Brass Band playing which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Major Karen Castley, Area Officer spoke of how with Gods help Cooper Street would become a place for spiritual growth. Major Jacky Targett talked about how Cooper St would provide programs for the community such as Home Church, Aussie Grandparents praying group, weddings/funerals, womens & mens groups, and helping those in need.

Saturday is our official opening day for Greater Grampians Salvos at 35 Cooper Street, Stawell.
We have official opening at 11.30 with special guests. Free Bbq lunch. Music by Ruth And Ziggy. lots of children activities. Show bags and icy poles. This is a great opportunity to view the premises and see what can be provided to the Stawell community. All Welcomed

Cooper Street Holistic centre held the 1st of 3 days of its opening.
Today Cr Jenny Greenberger gave a speech about the importance of the centre and was very impressed with the building and future programs to be held there. Major Jacky Targett thanked everyone for coming and gave an over view of what the centre is looking to provide to the Stawell community. Sandra Pickens who was unable to attend but provided a beautiful letter and some flower seeds to grow in the garden.

Andrew Parsons provided music which everyone enjoyed.

Fun day had by all.
