From October this year, personal care services will be fully funded under the Support at Home program, with no co-contribution required.​

In industry lingo, this moves personal care from the independence category to the clinical supports category.​

​In layperson’s term, this includes support for showering, dressing, eating, drinking and continence support. You do not need a new assessment if you already have an approved plan. The update will be automatic.

The Aged care system can feel like it changes faster than Tesla's share price.​

For example, the new Support at Home program has replaced the Home Care Package system, introducing eight funding levels instead of four. The aim is to help more Australians access the right level of support, sooner.​
