New Stall Holder Alert: Lamb with Love

We’re excited to welcome Lamb with Love to the Apollo Bay Farmers & Makers Market — a truly local, truly heartfelt addition to our community of growers and makers.

ARLA Rural Produce, the farm behind Lamb with Love, is nestled in the foothills just behind Apollo Bay. This small, sustainable farm is dedicated exclusively to breeding Wiltshire Horn sheep — a unique shedding breed renowned for exceptional meat quality. Taller in stature and naturally lower in fat than many other breeds, Wiltshire Horn lamb offers a distinctive, slightly gamey flavour you won’t find in supermarket cuts.

Every animal is raised with genuine care, because as the farmers say, a happy sheep produces delicious meat. Their commitment to ethical, sustainable farming shines through in every step of their process.

Over more than a decade, ARLA Rural Produce has refined their approach, choosing to process their lambs at 2+ years of age. This thoughtful timing enhances the natural gaminess and tenderness of the meat — much like cellaring a good red wine to deepen its character. (And yes, a glass of red pairs beautifully with their lamb.)

When you take home Lamb with Love, you’re experiencing the true meaning of paddock to plate — local, sustainable, flavour-rich produce raised right here in our region.

Come meet the farmers, learn about their practices, and treat yourself to a taste they genuinely hope you’ll enjoy as much as they do.

🌿 Introducing Saint Aire Farm at the Apollo Bay Farmers & Makers Market! 🌿
We’re thrilled to welcome Saint Aire Farm, a boutique beef operation nestled in the stunning limestone hills between Bass Strait and the Aire Valley. Founded by fourth-generation farmer Ros Denney, Saint Aire embodies a deep passion for sustainable farming and premium beef production.
Ros’s journey from couture to cattle is as unique as the land she farms. Her meticulous eye for detail—once dedicated to bespoke fashion—is now focused on nurturing Bazadais, Angus, and Tajima Wagyu cattle on nutrient-rich, native pastures. With a commitment to conservation, the farm is a haven for Australian birdlife, echidnas, and swamp wallabies, ensuring a harmonious balance between biodiversity and agriculture.
Saint Aire’s exceptional beef, grown in this breath-taking environment, is now available at the market. Come and discover the flavours of this beautiful terroir—because great beef starts with great care.

✨ A Heartfelt Thank You to Otway Prime! ✨

Many of you may already be aware our beloved meat produces Otway Prime are no longer able to attend the Apollo Bay Farmers and Makers Market.

From the very beginning, Otway Prime has been a cornerstone of the Apollo Bay Farmers & Makers Market, bringing their dedication to sustainable farming and premium-quality beef and lamb to our community.

Grown in the lush Otway Ranges, their livestock are free-range and grass-fed, with no lot feeding, grain, genetically modified stock feeds, or growth hormones. Their commitment to ethical animal welfare and stress minimisation ensures both the well-being of their livestock and the exceptional quality of their produce.

Beyond their outstanding meat, Otway Prime has championed environmental sustainability, dedicating 25% of their farm to remnant forest, revegetated shelter belts, and waterways—benefiting not only their livestock but also local wildlife and water quality.

We are incredibly grateful for their longstanding support of our farmers market and for bringing such wholesome, natural, and locally sourced beef and lamb to our tables. Wishing Udi & Lisa all the best on their journey forward!

🛍️ Thank you, Otway Prime! 🛍️
