A Tribute to Nirmal тАЬNimsтАЭ Purja and All Those Lost on Broad Peak
With profound sorrow, we mourn the loss of Nirmal тАЬNimsтАЭ Purja and all the courageous mountaineers who lost their lives in the devastating avalanche on Broad Peak, Pakistan.
Nims Dai was more than a world-renowned mountaineer, he was a symbol of courage, resilience, and the belief that the impossible can become possible. A former member of the UK Special Forces (SBS), he pushed beyond what many believed were the limits of human endurance and inspired millions across the globe.
He transformed the worldтАЩs perception of Nepalese mountaineers, bringing long-overdue recognition to the extraordinary skill, leadership, and professionalism of Sherpas and high-altitude guides. Through his achievements, documentaries, books, and motivational speeches, he inspired everyone, from young dreamers to business leaders, world figures, and adventure enthusiasts, to believe in themselves and embrace the mountains with respect.
He built the Nimsdai name into a globally recognized symbol of excellence in mountaineering, leadership, and determination. Yet despite his remarkable success, he remained humble, approachable, fearless, and proudly Nepali.
His legacy will continue to inspire generations to dream bigger, climb higher, and never give up.
Our heartfelt condolences also go to the families, friends, and loved ones of every climber who lost their life in the Broad Peak tragedy. Their courage and passion will never be forgotten.
Legends may leave this world, but their legacy lives forever.
