To the residents of Glenhaven who are fighting the 3 level childcare centre and medical Centre on 172 Glenhaven Road, know we are behind you and support you.

The developer wanted consent for the construction of a 3 level with a dwelling, medical centre and child care centre for 100 children with basement parking at 172 Glenhaven Road, Glenhaven.

We hope that the land environment Court sees that this is not the right development for this busy road and eye sore for all the residents and we do thank the council for rejecting it and now have to pay to defend their decision in the land environment Court.

It is set down for 22nd September hearing.

Memories for some of the long time residents and what it was in the good old days....... before the not in my neighbour hood movement moved in and changes the lifestyle ....for me my street was just on the boundary on the back straight

🏁 23 August 1998, Amaroo Park Raceway, a 1.9 kilometre motor racing circuit closed. It was the end of an era after 31 years motor racing at the circuit out at Annangrove in NSW. The last Australian Touring Car round to take place at the popular circuit four years earlier in 1994.

Amaroo Park first opened on 26 February 1967, hosting its first motorcycle meeting with a 30 lap production race. The first car meeting did not take place until 12 March,1967 👉 https://fb.watch/mBpDuidgEm/

The road circuit served as a host for a variety of competitions over three decades, including the Castrol 6 Hour motorcycle race, the Australian Touring Car Championship, Formula Ford, Formula 5000, historic racing and others.

Just like Oran Park, as the decades passed by Amaroo slowly faded in prominence and the Sydney suburbs began to approach. In a final ignominy, it was sold off to developers to make way for a housing estate for the well-heeled. fans

Another child care centre refused by council for being wrong development for the area, with the applicant now going to Land and Environment Court to get ruling overturned on September 7th and council now spending rate payers money to defend the decision.

The property is 2 acres which is one of the many original orchards in the area and the house on the property is listed as Historical significance and Heritage listed.

A child care centre for 174 children has been refused by council @ 29 Pitt Town Road Kenthurst on rural land that long time residents bought into the area years ago to enjoy the scenic character of the area.

It was refused under many non complying reasons and not in the public interest or suitable for the site, but the applicant and the developers have different views and even after the council ruling are still proceeding with court ruling against council and residents objection ( which is their right to do).

Although some people will think that it's not in my area it won't impact me, having 200 more cars impacting Annangrove Road, Blue Gum Road, Kenthurst Road and Pitt Town Road every morning and afternoon would not be a good outcome, as well especially on a blind corner.

Today, on the 18 August, we remember and honour the service and sacrifice of the Australians who served in the Vietnam War.

To their families who supported their
loved ones while they were serving, we thank you

Over 60,000 Australians who served in Vietnam.

521 who lost their lives, and some that returned suffered mentally and physically and some still do.

To all Vietnam Service Personnel we are for ever grateful, your courage will not be forgotten.

Lest we forget. 🇦🇺

Some people have asked for a close-up of what the new traffic like signals will look like at Withers Road and Annangrove Road here is a picture of what they have given the tender out to.

Only 1 lane turning right from Withers onto Annangrove road could be a problem in the future but let's hope that gives some relief to the drivers in the future cause it's a lot of money and a lot of pain for the next few years and not fix the large problem on Annangrove Road especially with Murphy's bridge bankup getting worse every day now going past Regal Gardens nearly every night to at least 6pm
And the Kenthurst end every morning and afternoon gridlock
