Bronwyn Grannall

Kucom Theatre is proud to have the talented Bronwyn Grannall directing our upcoming production of Waiting for God.

With an impressive theatre career spanning over five decades, her directing credits with Kucom include Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (her directorial debut, which enjoyed a sellout season), followed by Caught in the Net, The Vicar of Dibley, A Lady of Letters, What’s For Pudding? and most recently Ashes to Dust.

As both a director and award-winning actor, Bronwyn brings a wealth of experience from theatres across Sydney, Canberra and Mackay. Her performances have earned multiple accolades, including two Canberra Area Theatre Awards for Best Actress.

We are excited to have Bronwyn at the helm of Waiting for God and can’t wait for audiences to experience her vision for this much-loved comedy.

A retired photojournalist with a rebellious spirit and a razor-sharp wit, Diana refuses to let age define her. Whether she’s challenging Bayview’s management or keeping fellow resident Tom Ballard on his toes, Diana brings humour, heart, and plenty of mischief to the stage.

Introducing Andrew Obst as Basil & Rev. Dennis Sparrow

From lovable awkwardness to delightfully chaotic clergy, Andrew Obst takes on two wonderfully eccentric roles in Waiting for God.

Rev. Dennis Sparrow: The world-weary local vicar who can usually be relied upon to turn even the simplest church service into a complete disaster. With his absent-minded nature and gentle confusion, Dennis brings plenty of laughs to Bayview.

Basil: A smaller but memorable character who helps add even more charm and humour to the colourful world of Bayview Retirement Village.

Whether he’s navigating spiritual crises, accidental chaos, or the eccentric residents of Bayview, Andrew is sure to keep audiences entertained every step of the way.

From caring professional to scene-stealing comic relief, Jeany Elliott takes on the challenge of bringing not one, not two, but three memorable characters to life in Waiting for God.

🩺 Dr. Jenny Henry: Tending to the residents of Bayview with professional calm.

⚰️ The Undertaker: Appearing at just the right (or wrong) moment with perfectly timed humour.

🎭 Millie Dawkins: A brief but important character helping keep the chaos of Bayview moving along.

These clever multi-roles add extra charm, comedy, and energy to the production and Jeany is ready to make every moment count.
