Well, it's that time of the year again - 1st Altona Scout Group is kicking off again next week and we have the below opportunities for youth and also adults. If you are keen send me a message and we can go from there.
Joey Scout Group Leader and Assistant leader - 1 day a week on a Monday night form 5.45pm for an hour only on school terms. No meetings after the first week of December till end Jan each year. Great way to build self confidence in yourself and youth - the year is planned already so just delivering the program - 1 leader to 5-member ratio capped at 20 at a time -currently 8 members
Joey Scout members - Limited number aged 5 to 8 Monday night - Learn self-management, resilience and teamwork. We focus on community values and building common knowledge in a playful way.
Cubs Scouts Section - Ages 8 to 11 Unfortunately is full, with a waiting list but is available in other groups in Williamstown, Newport and Werribee
Scout section - Limited places ages 11 to 15
Venturer Section - NEW SECTION - Ages 15 to 18 - Be part of a new section that gives youth a safe place to meet, make new connections outside school and plan exciting initiatives to help the community. No Scouting experience is required. Venturers have lots of fun as they personally get to drive the meeting agendas and activities. Lots of Venturer camps as part of the wider Scouts Vic planned activities are also available.
Group Committee Secretary- Help run the group committee meeting which meets quarterly. We need a well organised person to take minutes and keep us on track in the meeting. Meeting run for 1.5 hours on the first Thursday of the school term. They will also oversee the organisation of the group Christmas party.
Our group is driven by strong community values and looks to create a space where youth can connect with others without the need to win or use technology. New members cand come for a trial to see if this is the right group for them before joining.
