Cherry Lake Cultural Series: Aneta Graham, Laughter Club Altona, and Newport Drummers.
To honour the upcoming Newport Jazz Festival Australia, (2nd-4th of May, 2025), CLCS will be showcasing artists scheduled to perform at the Newport Jazz Festival this March and April, 2025.
We are also delighted to add a new monthly series, “Laughter Club Altona”, in collaboration with the Louis Joel Arts & Community Centre.
Aneta Graham
Born and raised in New Zealand, Aneta infuses her smooth jazz vocals with a a joy and zest for life.
Her music has been inspired by the Hobsons Bay music community from playing the blues with Cross Town Traffic and the Tues Blues community group to swinging jazz tunes with the Aneta Graham Band, Mango Juice, as a guest singer with the Melbourne Jazz Jammers trio.
Most recently to be performing at the Newport Jazz Festival and a previous regular at Challis Street Café and the Victorian Wine Centre, Aneta aims to delight all and share her passion for music.
Laughter Club Altona
“They say laughter is the best medicine: studies show that laughter can have therapeutic benefits, including reducing cortisol levels, encouraging the flow of endorphins. and regulating heart rate/blood pressure.
Facilitated by trained volunteers, Laughter Club is open to all ages and abilities. LOL with Karen & Mia this Sunday at Cherry Lake Market!”
Newport Drummers
Newport Drummers is a community-based drum ensemble modelled on West African instruments and rhythms, and founded on the concept of this music being celebrated, through group ensemble practice and performance, with our community.
Our community-based percussion ensemble invites you to join us! Bring a drum or use one of ours.
Giving thanks, and
See you there-M
