We had a very enjoyable breakfast event today with inspiring speakers to celebrate NR ZONTA’S International Women’s Day. Great food, wonderful company and five ‘remarkable women’ speakers whose life work, passions and experiences really demonstrate their commitment to helping Balance the Scales. A sincere thank you to our MC and organisers and to our community who support us. A memorable quote ‘if you have a voice - use it to help those who are voiceless’.

We will have 5 remarkable women to talk about what this day of celebrating women’s achievements means to them: Maddison Powell (Women’s Health Centre Lismore but formerly of Fletcher Street Cottage in Byron Bay); Frewoini Baume (a beautiful young woman with an interesting life story. She is a bee expert – travels the world educating on eradication of varroa mite in bees); Di Goldie who will talk about one of Zonta’s International Projects (Birthing Kits); Judy Smith (retired Police Officer who worked for many years in our local area as a DVLO (Domestic Violence Liaison Officer) and in Child Mistreatment Unit; and Trina Jones who will talk about one of Zonta’s current projects.
