Yesterday, you may have seen one of our fire trucks out and about, stopping on the side of the road, and wondered what we were doing.
Our brigade has started inspecting fire hydrants throughout the Allansford area to make sure they are accessible and have the correct signage in place for when they are needed.
Unfortunately, we've found that a large number of hydrants are difficult to access because they have become covered by long grass, dirt, or other debris.
We're asking our community for a small favor. If you have a fire hydrant on or near your front lawn, please take a few extra minutes to clear away any grass, weeds, or built-up dirt around it. This small effort can make a big difference, allowing firefighters to quickly access water when responding to an emergency.
Thank you for helping us keep our community safe. If you would like more information or have any questions about fire hydrants in our area, please feel free to contact the Allansford Fire Brigade.
