A new year ahead for ADTTA

Following last night’s Annual General Meeting, the Alexandra & District Traders & Tourism Association (ADTTA) is pleased to confirm our executive committee for the year ahead:

• President: Gordon Simpson
• Vice President: Peter Aumann
• Treasurer: Daniel Crane
• Secretary: Caolan O’Connor

Our fellow executive committee members are Mike Dalmau, Andrew Embling, Amanda Simpson, Nigel Lyttle and Ian Davis.

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM, and to those volunteering their time and experience to support our local business community.

There have already been plenty of positive conversations about strengthening connections between local businesses, supporting our members and helping shape the future of business and tourism in Alexandra and the surrounding district. We’re excited to build on those conversations and turn ideas into action in the year ahead.

Are you planning your next visit to Lakeside, Candlebark, or Devil Cove campgrounds, or the Herb Fitzroy Day Visitor Area main boat ramp at Lake Eildon National Park? If so, check out the new facilities below.

Alexandra and District Traders and Tourism Association (ADTTA) first wrote to the Regional Director of Parks Victoria in October 2023 to discuss our concerns about the closure of these toilet facilities and the impact it would have on tourism (due to closure of camping). Suffice to say, it feels like these upgrades have been ongoing for some time.

The new toilets were finished in June 2026, and we're really excited to see a great summer of Lake Eildon camping ahead.

Looking for something to do this Sunday? Looking for a great way to close out the school holidays? Perhaps you've been hiding inside from the rain the last few days and want to wander Rotary Park on a sunny Spring day. Whatever the reason, there are so many fantastic stalls to browse this month at the Grant Street Monthly Market in Rotary Park from 9am - 1pm this Sunday.

Congratulations to Victoria’s Top Tourism Town winners for 2026!

Alexandra was proud to be a finalist in this year’s Small Tourism Town category, alongside some fantastic destinations from across Victoria.

While Alexandra didn’t bring home a medal this year, being recognised among Victoria’s leading small tourism towns is something our community can be proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to Alexandra’s submission, voted for us, shared the campaign, welcomed visitors, ran events, operated local businesses, volunteered their time, or simply helped showcase what makes our town and district special.

Awards are wonderful recognition, but they’re only part of the story.

Alexandra still has an enormous amount to offer, from our local businesses and events to our natural environment, history, hospitality and, most importantly, the people who make visitors feel welcome.

We’ll keep telling that story, keep improving what we offer, and keep giving people plenty of reasons to discover Alexandra.
