🎉Alexandra Repair Cafe - Final Event🎉

All good things must come to an end. And indeed, it has been good.

For the past 6 years we have coordinated the Alexandra Repair Café which has reduced 1,000’s of kg from going to landfill, shared valuable skills and knowledge and mostly importantly generated countless community connections.

Our last ever Alexandra Repair Café event will take place on Saturday 30th November. This has not been an easy decision to make, but many factors have contributed to our decision and we believe the time is right to say farewell. Alexandra Repair Café was the first ever event at the Embassy of Ideas so we are a little nostalgic to say the least. This event launched the Embassy.

Our last event will also be our 50th event – so we are going out on a high.

Join us for cake to celebrate the success and learnings from the past 6 years, and reflect on this wonderful volunteer driven community event.

⭐August Repair Cafe Event⭐

🎉The next Alexandra Repair Cafe will be on Saturday 24th August.
🔨We have volunteers who can help you fix your broken items, including general repairs, bikes and knife/garden tool sharpening
🪚At the Repair Cafe we share the joys of repairing and mending your treasured items by keeping them in circulation for longer and not go to landfill.
⌚️Drop in to the Embassy of Ideas 3 Bayley St Alexandra from 1pm -3pm.
⭐This is a free community event.

Alexandra Repair Cafe is on this Saturday 18th May. This month we have some talented volunteers who can help you fix your broken items, including general repairs, bikes and knife/garden tool sharpening. At the Repair Cafe we share the joys of repairing and mending your treasured items by keeping them in circulation for longer and not go to waste. We are now running this Repair Cafe event ever quarter, so if you miss this event, our next one will be in August.
All this happens at the Embassy of Ideas, 3 Bayley St Alexandra from 1pm -3pm. This is a free community event. What will you bring to repair?

Alexandra Repair Cafe is back repairing and sharing skills this Saturday 10th Feb from 1 -3pm at the Embassy of Ideas in Alexandra. We have some talented volunteers who can help mend your broken items. This month we have volunteers to help knife sharpening, general repairs, electrical and bikes. Are you handy? Do you like to tinker? Looking for volunteer opportunities in your community? Alexandra Repair Cafe would love to hear from you! What will you bring to repair?

This Saturday is our last Repairing event for the year. Have a treasured item that's broken? Why not give the gift of repair this year and get it mended for Christmas. Need to sharpen your knives to carve the Xmas ham? Jim will be there with his sharpening skills to help you out. We also have our WeCycle community bike shed open and can help get your bike ready for Summer riding. Drop in this Saturday 11th Nov, 1-3pm at the Embassy of Ideas, 3 Bayley Street Alexandra.

Alexandra Repair Cafe will be back repairing and sharing skills this Saturday 9th Sept from 1 -3pm at the Embassy of Ideas in Alexandra. This month we have volunteers who can help with furniture, general repairs, electrics, bikes and also knife and tool sharpening. This will be our second last repairing event for 2023! What will you bring to repair? We are always on the look out for next fixers. Are you handy? Do you like to tinker? Looking for volunteer opportunities in your community? We are back repairing and sharing with a twist! We have made the decision to host our event every second month rather than monthly. Our next event is this Saturday 13th May from 1-3pm at the Embassy of Ideas, 3 Bayley St, Alexandra. What will you bring to repair?

Alexandra Repair Cafe was started in 2019 and has been running for 4 years and hosted 42 repairing and sharing events. In that time we have saved hundreds of Kg's of items from going to landfill, shared many hours of knowledge and skills and made priceless community connections. For the next few months we are going to take a well earned break. We are now looking at new ways of running this event to ensure that are volunteers are valued and we adapt to our community needs for this type of event. We hope to be back repairing again in May 🔧🔨🪚🪛

We are back for 2023! Alexandra Repair Cafe have some wonderful volunteers who can help you fix your broken stuff and reduce things going to landfill. Come down this Saturday 11th Feb from 1-3pm at the Embassy of Ideas - 3 Bayley St. Alexandra.
Do you have a talent for mending and repairing things? We are always on the look out for new volunteers. Pop in for a chat and cuppa and join the repairing and sharing movement! All welcome!

We will be hosting our last Reparing and Sharing event for the year this Saturday. We have wonderful and talented volunteers who can help you fix your broken items. We also have a sharpener back on deck this month. Bring down your knives and garden tools and learn how to sharpen them!

Are you handy and like to fix stuff? We are always on the look out for new volunteers. Join us this Saturday 10th December from 1-3pm at the Embassy of Ideas, 11 Bunderboweik St, Alexandra.
