Welcome to Alexandra Indoor Heated Pool Inc.
Our Story -
We're more than just a swimming pool.
We're a community-owned, community-managed not-for-profit organisation that was started by local parents who believed Alexandra and the wider Murrindindi community deserved access to a warm-water swimming facility all year round.
Located at 53 Nihil St, Alexandra, in the beautiful Murrindindi Shire on Taungurung Country, our pool has become a place where people of all ages can learn, exercise, recover, connect, and build confidence in the water.
Our objective has always remained the same: to provide an affordable, accessible, and welcoming heated pool that promotes water safety, health, and wellbeing for our entire community.
Today, we're proud to offer:
• Learn to Swim for babies, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults
• Self-Paced Exercise for adults
• Small group swimming programs
• A warm, solar-heated salt mineral pool with all-abilities access
As a small community facility, some programs are subject to staff availability and community demand.
We regularly listen to our community and continue to explore new programs and opportunities as needs change.
One of our greatest strengths is our people.
Our qualified swim teachers are passionate about water safety and creating a supportive environment where every swimmer can learn at their own pace.
Many are parents themselves, bringing both professional knowledge and personal understanding to every lesson.
Behind the scenes is a dedicated volunteer Committee of Management who work tirelessly to ensure the pool remains sustainable for future generations. Every lesson booked, every enrolment and every participant helps keep this valuable community asset operating.
This project would never have become a reality without the incredible support of our volunteers, local businesses and the wider community, who stood beside us every step of the way even through the challenges of the COVID years.
We also gratefully acknowledge the support of Pick My Project, FRRR, Murrindindi Shire Council and our landlord, whose belief in this community helped turn an idea into reality.
Whether you're introducing your baby to the water, helping your child develop lifelong water safety skills, returning to exercise, recovering from injury or simply looking for a welcoming place to stay active, we'd love to welcome you.
Together, we're building a healthier, safer and more connected community ....one swimmer at a time.
