Main South Road Action Group Our Mission: To be the voice of the local community of the Fleurieu Peninsula to achieve the best version of Main South Road possible.

The Main South Road Action Group has now come to an end. This page now serves as a time capsule. In a short few years we have lost several lives within a few km's of each other and many more lives have been lost in total between Seaford and Sellicks. The roads to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach are in poor condition and are contributing to our increasing road toll. The volume of traffic they h

andle has increased substantially in recent years and this combined with growing tourism, South Rd is not designed to handle this traffic. It's time the Government upgrades Main South Rd to a 4 lane road with safe exits along the way. As a community we have the power in numbers to press the issue. Help us press the message to the Government. Share this page with friends and family who use the road. Write to the local members of parliament stressing your concerns.

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

Over 9 years ago the Main South Road Action Group was formed after the growing number of vehicle accidents resulting in many injuries and sadly some deaths. Our goal was to lobby the government for a safer and free flowing road from Seaford to Sellicks.

Thanks to the unprecedented support from everywhere and everyone we have achieved this goal of a safer road for the future.

As a result it has been decided that the Group will be finishing as of now, with much satisfaction of what we all have accomplished together.

Have a Merry Christmas and travel safe.

It's really starting to look like the real thing! Commuting between Aldinga and Willunga has already become so much safer.

A section of Sellicks Beach Road, between Forth Street and Main South Road, will be closed until 23 December to allow intersection upgrade work as part of the Fleurieu Connections project to duplicate Main South Road.

The work, to relocate water mains, install new stormwater infrastructure and resurface the road will take place during the day and at night. 🚧

There is no access to and from Main South Road via Sellicks Beach Road during this closure. Detours are in place and access to Main South Road will be maintained via Justs Road and Norman Road. ⛔ 🛣️
