Happy Thursday everyone. I hope your week is going well. Weather is not looking great for Saturday but according to the BOM, we will have rain, cloud and sun. Let’s hope they are wrong about the rain!!
An interesting item on the Bicycle Network newsletter this month is that the Super Tuesday count shows a 19% increase in the number of e-bikes on roads nationally, compared with 2025.
There will be a short film night in Yackandandah on Saturday 8 August which shows many iconic short films of cycling around the world. If interested google The Big Bike Film Night - Australia - Big Bike Film Night

After leaving Noreuil Park we wend our way watchfully through South Albury and onto Willowbank Road. We then turn into Doctors Point Road and head towards Mungabareena Road. There's a steepish climb en route but you get great views of the snow, if there has been any and if the cloud is not too low. Turning left at the junction of Drs Point and Mungabareena Roads we ride to the bike trail on the Riverina Highway, follow the trail for a short distance before turning right into Island Road and crossing the bridge into Victoria. We'll ride to the end of the sealed road and then retrace our steps back to Riverina Highway and continue on to Elizabeth Mitchell Drive. Crossing over Elizabeth Mitchell Drive we'll ride to Corry's Road (or to Fallon Street depending on conditions) and back on the Albury Thurgoona trail. We'll detour via Schubach Street onto Willowbank Road and finish our ride in South Albury. Depending on conditions, coffee will either be at Ebden and Olive or BBB.
