👥 Everyone counts—and everyone should be counted. As Homelessness Week comes to a close, we turn our attention to Census Week.
🏠📣Being counted helps build a clearer picture of homelessness and strengthens the case for the housing, services and resources our community needs.
🫵If you are experiencing homelessness (or know someone who is) and need help filling out your Census pop into the Hub on 562 Macauley Street and we'll point you in the right direction.

Census night is Tuesday 11 August. Couch surfing that night? You can be included on the household form where you spend Census night. If you prefer to complete your Census form separately from the household you can request one from us.

Write ‘NONE’ for your usual address.

🏠This Homelessness Week we are supporting Homelessness Nsw's "A Place to Call Home" campaign, calling for more social housing and properly funded homelessness services. Everyone deserves a suitable home. But right now, demand for housing and homelessness support in NSW far outstrips supply, leaving too many people without the stability and safety they need.

We recently had a great day with Yfoundations , the NSW peak body for youth homelessness, visiting our sites and hearing directly from our team about the challenges facing young people in our community.

❓Did you know that almost half of the people experiencing homelessness in Australia are children and young people? Their voices and experiences matter.

🙏 Thanks to the Yfoundations team for spending the day with us, listening, learning and working together towards better outcomes for young people.

🐾💛 And a special mention to Honey, our Youth Team’s unofficial ambassador, who enjoyed being involved in the conversation!

We did it Albury! 🙌

🎉 Yes Unlimited together with our community housing partner Housing Plus is thrilled to announce that Betty’s Place East, our purpose built Core and Cluster Women’s Refuge, is open!

❤️ We are so proud to continue the legacy of the original Betty’s Place with this additional site, and be able to support more women and children as they rebuild a life free from violence.

🏡 It’s such a beautiful building that Zauner Construction even picked up an award at Northern Regions Master Builders’ Awards.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all the people who have contributed to a project that will benefit our community for many years to come.

As Yes Unlimited recognises National Reconciliation Week and this year's theme, ALL IN, we are reminded that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility and that we all have a role to play in building more connected communities.

Last week, The Hive Youth Resource Centre had the privilege of taking eight young people to Melbourne to participate in the Long Walk and attend the Dreamtime at the 'G match between Essendon and Richmond at the MCG.

It was an incredible opportunity for young people to celebrate culture, connect with community, and experience the powerful atmosphere of one of Australia's most significant sporting events. Young people particularly loved the pre-match performances and fireworks and valued the opportunity to connect with culture in such a positive and meaningful way.

🤯Blown away by the efforts of Traverse Alpine Group and all the supporters of the Betty's Place Fundraiser this year!! These funds will do so much good for our community! 🏠❤️

‼️ $220,000 RAISED ‼️

Today, our community showed up in the most incredible way. Together, we raised a record-breaking $220,000 for Betty's Place Women's Refuge - a HUGE increase from last year and a result that honestly leaves us speechless.

To every person who attended, donated, sponsored, bid in the auction, bought raffle tickets, shared our message, or supported the event in any way - thank you.

These funds will directly support women and children in our region experiencing domestic violence, helping provide safety, accomodation and vital support services when they are needed most.

Today was emotional, powerful and deeply inspiring. A reminder of what can happen when a community comes together behind a cause that truly matters. From the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU 💜💜💜
