As Yes Unlimited recognises National Reconciliation Week and this year's theme, ALL IN, we are reminded that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility and that we all have a role to play in building more connected communities.

Last week, The Hive Youth Resource Centre had the privilege of taking eight young people to Melbourne to participate in the Long Walk and attend the Dreamtime at the 'G match between Essendon and Richmond at the MCG.

It was an incredible opportunity for young people to celebrate culture, connect with community, and experience the powerful atmosphere of one of Australia's most significant sporting events. Young people particularly loved the pre-match performances and fireworks and valued the opportunity to connect with culture in such a positive and meaningful way.

🤯Blown away by the efforts of Traverse Alpine Group and all the supporters of the Betty's Place Fundraiser this year!! These funds will do so much good for our community! 🏠❤️

‼️ $220,000 RAISED ‼️

Today, our community showed up in the most incredible way. Together, we raised a record-breaking $220,000 for Betty's Place Women's Refuge - a HUGE increase from last year and a result that honestly leaves us speechless.

To every person who attended, donated, sponsored, bid in the auction, bought raffle tickets, shared our message, or supported the event in any way - thank you.

These funds will directly support women and children in our region experiencing domestic violence, helping provide safety, accomodation and vital support services when they are needed most.

Today was emotional, powerful and deeply inspiring. A reminder of what can happen when a community comes together behind a cause that truly matters. From the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU 💜💜💜

Youth Homelessness Matters Day

We hear these myths all the time:
- That youth homelessness isn’t common in Albury.
- That young people run away because they want to rebel.
- That they don’t care about school or work.

The truth is, youth homelessness is often hidden.

Most young people aren’t sleeping rough, they’re couch surfing, staying in unsafe or overcrowded housing, and doing what they can to get by.

Leaving home is rarely about rebellion, it’s often about safety.

And when you don’t know where you’ll sleep, staying engaged in school or work becomes incredibly difficult.

Let’s keep challenging the myths.

Guess what? Our very own Bianca Edwards is stepping into the spotlight as one of the local stars in Stars of the Border! ✨

Bianca will be dancing her heart out to help raise vital funds for the Cancer Council, supporting people and families affected by cancer in our community.

We’re incredibly proud to have such a passionate and community-minded superstar on our team. Over the coming months, Bianca will be sharing her journey as she prepares for the big night, and we’d love for our community to cheer her on along the way!

Survey Week is done and dusted! 🎉

Last week was Survey Week for our Albury Project Partnership partner schools and our team was in full action mode 🙌

📋 Over 2,000 students take part in our annual award-winning, community-grown early-intervention project, now proudly in its 8th year 💥

For 8 years, this work has focused on proactively identifying young people and families who may need a bit of extra support to get through school and become thriving adults.

Because when it comes to supporting young people - earlier is always better.

🌟We were thrilled to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales , and Mr. Dennis Wilson to the Hive Youth Resource Centre today! It was a wonderful opportunity to talk about the things we care about and some of the challenges our community is facing.

Last Thursday we held our annual Hive Christmas Party, an event that celebrates the young people who have been involved with the Hive all year round.

We had a traditional Christmas feast with all the trimmings, a little thankyou present and games. It was a great way to end the year with lots of laughter and plenty of food!

A big thankyou to the 30 young people who attended, we hope you had just as much fun this year with us as we did with you!
