We are truly grateful to have attended the 2026 Platform 1225 conference hosted by the Queensland Youth Housing Coalition.

This years speaker's were especially insightful with presentations covering a range of important topics:

- Prevention and Early Intervention in Crisis Driven Work

- Advocacy and government engagement with young people

- Young person-centred intervention in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV).

- Crime and Corruption prevention

The conference also featured panel discussions between young people and youth sector workers which highlighted the necessary improvements required to improve service provision within the homelessness sector.

We extend a big thankyou to Queensland Youth Housing Coalition for hosting this conference and shedding light on the complexities facing the homelessness sector and the services fighting together to end youth homelessness.

Today we acknowledge and raise awareness for Youth Homelessness Matters Day 🏑

We as a society must recognize the impact that stable and secure housing has on the future of our young people.

You can show your support by sharing messages and content, hosting and attending YHMD events, donating to services, and advocating to end child and youth homelessness.

Every young Australian deserves a safe place to call home.

Make way for our next staff member, Penny!

She is YHP's wonderful assistant tenancy manager who works diligently to support our Tenancy Manager, Ross, with the day to day tasks.

Being a former tenant of YHP, her lived experience is paramount in facilitating the growth of our young people's independence.

Penny is a proud mother of four, with two being her precious fur babies 🐱🐱

She is also a seasoned netball player with many years of practice behind her. πŸ†πŸ€Ύ

YHP is so grateful to the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust for their recent grant which will be utilised to purchase essential household items for young people. This generosity will make such a difference to the homes and lives of the young people in YHP's supported accommodation program.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." β€” Helen Keller

What an incredible start to the year!

For our February General grant round we awarded over $300,000 in grants to 30 Brisbane charities supporting locals in need. Together, we're funding driving lessons for vulnerable women seeking independence, school essentials for children escaping domestic violence, and hundreds of emergency food hampers for people facing food scarcity.

We are so proud to support the organisations helping Brisbane stronger and more compassionate.πŸ’›
