Congratulations to Katelin McInerney on winning the Kiama by-election and becoming our electorate's first female MP.
We are all looking forward to watching her involvement with the Tripoli Way Project and anticipating the inclusion of the 2021 TfNSW Movement and Place Study for Albion Park Option 4. Shown below.
SCC, TfNSW and Private engineers (Cardno) all agree that Option 4 is needed for Triploi Way to be fully effective in reducing traffic through the CDB along the Illawarra Highway. Families attending our schools, churches and businesses, are at risk every day!
Katelin’s priority issues include:
• Delivering the Tripoli Way Bypass and upgrades to the Princes Highway, Nowra Bypass, and Moss Vale Road,
• Building a new primary school in Calderwood, and upgrading Bomaderry High School, Bomaderry Public School and Pre-School.
• Delivering the new Shellharbour and Shoalhaven Hospital Developments.
UPDATE:
Although Tripoli Way has been planned for decades, this was before the State Government approved the developments west of Albion Park as "State Significant", with reduced expenses, such as infrastructure, as incentives.
It was also before the recent Motorway was constructed to bypass Albion Park Rail. The ON-OFF ramps were NOT included in the original plans but were later included after community concerns!
With these major developments dropping on Albion Park, SCC has brought forward the Tripoli Way construction, with financial assistance from the State Government.
In the design process engineers from TfNSW, SCC and Cardno (contractor) all agreed that the 2021 TfNSW Motion and Place Study, Option 4, a "Loop Rd" from Tripoli Way to the ramps east of Albion Park was needed to greatly improve the efficiency of Tripoli Way.
It is believed that this will be a NSW Govt funded project and why it was not included in the SCC Tripoli Way construction.
Hopefully our new MP will realise the importance of "Option 4" and update our community on the planning progress, if any.
