A great day for the Great Southern region today, as the first of only a handful of RPPP (Precincts and Partnerships Program) grants nationally, is announced in Albany. The $8.1M Federal RPPP funding will enable Advance Housing to develop a significant parcel of CBD land on the corner of Spencer & Frederick Streets to provide over 18 social and affordable homes as well as commercial spaces as part of the educational precinct. RDA Great Southern is proud to be a part of this through our Great Southern Universities Centre.

This is a milestone that wouldn't have been possible without the tireless work of Advance Housing and enabling support from many local leaders and partners over the past 8 years.

We were grateful to welcome Minister Kristy McBain (Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories; Emergency Management) alongside Senator Dorinda Cox this morning to mark this important milestone for the community.

RDA Great Southern is seeking expressions of interest from people who want to help shape the economic future of the Great Southern region. A casual vacancy has arisen on our board, and we are inviting applications from across the region. This is a voluntary, non-executive role with real influence over how the region engages with government, industry, and investment. EOI closes 5pm Thursday 3 September.

RDA Great Southern is an independent, locally-led not-for-profit, funded by the Australian Government to help deliver the Regional Investment Framework. We support local leaders in building a strong, connected and resilient Great Southern. As part of a national network of RDA's, we work where economic and social impact meet to support a thriving regional economy and a thriving regional community. We connect and collaborate across government, business, not-for-profits and First Nations communities to unlock investment and innovation, bridge development gaps and back local priorities - because the best outcomes for the Great Southern are the ones its communities lead themselves.
