Lantern making at the Library for Carrying the Fire, tomorrow - Thursday 8th October. There's still space!

There are three different lanterns to choose from, ranging in difficulty for various ages. All materials provided, and no prior artistic experience needed.

DIY Banksia/Byarra Lantern design tutorial preview!

What do you carry into our shared future? 🌿✨

Hi, I’m Mae Elliott! I’ve been working with Southern Edge Arts to design lanterns inspired by Menang Country for Carrying the Fire.

Watch this quick preview on how to make your own DIY Biyarra / Banksia lantern using a recycled Tetra Pak carton. Then, bring your lantern to join us on Saturday, 7th November as we illuminate the coastline from Emu Point to Binalup / Middleton Beach!

What to expect:

Trying something new can be scary, especially if you’ve never done it before. At SEA, we value curiosity as a creative superpower that leads to discovery and lots of fun! Approaching something new with curiosity and you never know where it might lead you.
