The Magical Container
At tonight's meeting, Rotarian Carol shared with us her vision for supporting the people of Zimbabwe through partnering with local Zimbabwean Rotary clubs. She spoke of her recent trip with her husband and of the pressing needs they discovered, such as for surgery for children with neuroma, keloid scarring and keratoconus. Carol also spoke of the basic PPE needed by emergency services personnel. Some fire fighters do not have gloves, masks or fire retardant uniforms. Music schools are desperate for musical instruments and there is no wellbeing support for vets, a profession which has the highest rate of su***de. Carol has already started making connections with our local universities.
The next step is to raise funds for the purchase of a container and for its shipping costs. This is an exciting venture and we look forward to working together on the various connected projects.
