From all of us at Nunkuwarrin Yunti, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible event partners and sponsors who helped bring our Closing the Gap Day event to life for the community.

It was truly a remarkable day, with a fantastic turnout and smiles all around. Your support made it all possible.

A special thank you to Tackling Indigenous Smoking, AHCSA, SAACCON, NIAA, and SA Health for standing with us and supporting this important event.

Getting there is easy - all public transport is free for event ticket holders between 8:30am and 5:00pm. Simply show your event ticket as your pass when travelling.

Closing the Gap Day has a strong focus on strengthening cultural connections and raising awareness around health, social and emotional wellbeing and key efforts in addressing the inequities faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as outlined and reported in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

To support these initiatives, CTG day will have over 140 exhibitors all with a focus on Health, Social Connection, Education and Community.

We’re proud to announce our headline performer Marlon to our Closing the Gap event 19th March at the Adelaide Show Grounds.
Marlon originates from the tropics of his Traditional lands of the Larrakia in Darwin, Northern Territory. Transitioning from a Professional AFL Career being drafted at the age of just 17, Marlon’s transformation into singer songwriter has catapulted into co-writing songs with Australian Hip Hop stars such as Urthboy, ‘YES’ with Rap/Hip Hop Powerhouse A.B Original, ‘Blak Australia Policy from the ARIA award winning Album of 3%, and most recently the smash hit ‘The Gift’ with Rap Giants Hilltop Hoods.

Marlon blends his early music influences of Michael Jackson with and more recent sounds like Miguel, Weekend and N.E.R.D to produce thought provoking, melodically moving lyrics with his captivating voice, challenging the status quo and capturing the story of his ancestral homelands, and the challenges of Aboriginal Australia.

We’re proud to welcome Tilly Tjala Thomas to our Closing the Gap event 19th March at the Adelaide Show Grounds.

Tilly is a Nukunu singer-songwriter, who grew up on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South of Adelaide. Since finishing school in 2020, the electronic pop and indie musician have bagged numerous industry accolades, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musician of the Year, NIMA Unearthed Award at the 2021 National Indigenous Music awards and the Emily Burrows Award at the 2021 South Australian Music Awards. Tilly was awarded the Stigwood Artist Fellowship (2022) and released her first EP, Sanctuary.
