The current mental health system often overlooks the importance of wellbeing. It’s time we rethink how we approach mental health, focusing not just on symptoms but on flourishing.

Research shows that wellbeing isn’t just for those without mental health conditions. Everyone deserves a sense of purpose, connection, and fun, regardless of their mental health status.

Let’s advocate for a system that values well-being as much as it does clinical symptoms. It’s about building a supportive environment where everyone can thrive, not just manage symptoms.

What’s your take on integrating well-being into mental health care?

Let’s keep this conversation going! You can watch Joep’s full 17 minute talk from the QLD Mental Health Commission earlier this week for free on our Susbtack. Link in bio.

Raise your hand if you have 15 tabs open right now. 🙋
Turns out that’s not making you more productive…. research says multitasking is actually a myth. And most of us are doing it all day without realising.

This is a clip from our Wellbeing Microlearning Videos: short, evidence-based content on the topics that actually affect how we feel and perform at work.

Because your team deserves to know this stuff.

We’ve created a whole series of short, evidence-based videos covering the topics that actually affect how people feel and perform at work - from resilience and stress to energy, gratitude, strengths and more. Something for every team, whatever they’re navigating right now.

SuperFriend’s 2026 Indicators of a Thriving Workplace just dropped and the data is worth sitting with.

12,000+ Australian workers surveyed. The numbers are sobering. But more than that, there’s a gap in how we’re measuring workplace wellbeing altogether, and that’s the conversation we actually want to have.

Let us know - what insight surprises you the most?

Joep has written the full breakdown on Be Well Know-How (link in bio) — no jargon, and genuinely useful if you work in HR, L&D, or lead a team. If you aren’t yet a paying subscriber to our substack - he’s also posted this one in his LinkedIn (for free) go check it out.

When times feel uncertain, wellbeing support is often the first thing deprioritised at work.

But research consistently shows that periods of high external pressure are when stress support has the greatest impact, because unmanaged stress compounds quickly when people have no framework to work with.

Supporting your people through uncertainty is one of the most effective things an organisation can do right now.

If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of unsolicited grandparent parenting advice, this one’s for you.

Associate Professor James Kirby actually studied this, and found it’s the number one reason parents stop relying on grandparent care. Not scheduling conflicts, not distance…but the advice.

And the best part? The grandparents know. They just genuinely cannot stop themselves.

In Gallup’s recent “State of the Global Workplace” data shows that Australia ranks #2 in the world for life satisfaction… sounds good right? Although this sounds promising, when you zoom out on the trend line, Australia’s life satisfaction is actually declining year on year, and our stress levels are up a whopping 16% since 2011 - this is the fastest rise globally.

For all the poor time data nerds out there, Joep has combed through the report and analysed what the data and trends are actually telling us. We look at Aus/NZ, US/Canada, and Europe.

You can read the piece on our substack. Free to read. Let us know what surprises you.

49% of Australian workers report high daily stress, the fastest rise globally, up from 33% in 2011.

Where do you sit on that graph?

Stress isn’t just a personal problem. It shows up as disengagement, poor decisions, and teams that are technically present but not really there.

The good news: it’s manageable. Not by ignoring it, but by understanding how it works and building a practical response to it.

That’s exactly what our Managing Stress workshop covers. And because it’s a public workshop, your team doesn’t need to wait for an organisational rollout - anyone can register and show up.
