Carol’s dream ride in a 2CV - Happy 70th Birthday Carol!
Our club recently had an enquiry from Simon and fiancé Ami asking if we could possibly organise a Citroen 2CV to take Simon’s mother, Carol for a drive as a surprise for her 70th birthday. She had always loved 2CVs, but had never been for a ride in one.
They were dining that evening at the Semaphore Palais, so we met at Semaphore.
The surprise had been kept a secret and when Carol came out with her family, she was really surprised, but very enthused to see the red 2CV.
We organised to go for a drive along the beach from Semaphore to Largs Bay and Outer Harbor and both she and Simon came.
They were impressed with how the 2CV rode and performed and we chatted about the history of these cars. It was a nice sunny day for a cruise along the beach. After Outer Harbor, we returned to Semaphore and took a few photos.
They were very grateful and I was more than happy to have helped Carol with a special gift for her birthday.
