Connected! Informed! Inspired!

Thank you to and our local partners for supporting us this past year! We were on the edge of inactive last year, and have grown to 59 current members with a team of volunteers that are proud to wear AIYA shirts!

Thank you to and all of our local partners for giving us support to rebuild! We were on the edge of inactive last year, and have grown to 59 current members with a team of volunteers that are proud to wear AIYA shirts!

Do you want to help Australian and Indonesian Youth to Connect, Inform and Inspire in 2026?

Nominate to be a part of our 2026 Leadership Team:
-> Chapter President and Vice President (Heads of the Chapter)
-> Secretary (Head of Chapter Admin)
-> Treasurer (Head of Chapter Finances)

Those elected will have the opportunity to:
-> Travel to Jakarta for free! To take part in the annual AIYA Kongress (One member, preferably the Chapter President). Our secretary went to Bali for free in 2025!
-> Be Connected! In the past year our Leadership team has met with the Indonesian Consular General, The Department of Home Affairs, Academics, Business Leaders, Student and Community Organisations.
-> Be Informed! Attend professional workshops and develop new skills. Organise events on topics of most interest to you. Invite speakers you want to hear from.
-> Be Inspired! Experience a vibrant community with the same mission as you, not just in our chapter, but across Indonesia and Australia.

If successful, as a team you will need to:
-> Connect young Australians and Indonesians to each other, and to educational, cultural and professional opportunities.
-> Inform about avenues to engage with Australia and Indonesia to enhance young people’s understanding of each other’s countries.
-> Inspire youth, business, government, educational institutions and other organisations to support and facilitate youth engagement with Indonesia in Australia.

In 2026 you could work on:
-> Cross-cultural exchange in Australia & Indonesia
-> Indonesian language promotion & engagement
-> Media, Arts & cultural awareness
-> Business/Economic networking

reached out to AIYA SA two weeks ago asking if we could connect them with volunteers able to interpret for Indonesian Filmmakers at the screenings for Yohanna and the Book of Sijjin and Illiyyin.

Thank you to all those in our network who responded promptly to the request.

Thank you to Hannah, Ade and Farichatul who were first to respond and helped Indonesian Filmmakers to connect, inform and inspire attendees of the Adelaide Film Festival.
