About The Role

We are seeking proactive and talented individuals to join our high-performing team on site. Reporting to the Technology Site Operations Supervisor, we are looking for individuals who enjoy troubleshooting, problem solving and are keen to apply those skills to real world challenges. Working on a world class site, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Operational Technology systems function seamlessly to support safe and efficient operations.

In This Position, You Will Make An Impact By

Provide input to resolve priority technical issues effectively and efficiently.
Carry out routine inspections of video-conferencing equipment
Work within ServiceNow to prioritise tickets, provide feedback to customers and resolve incidents and requests efficiently
Provide a high level of customer service and engage with other Technology teams to provide customer support
Provide support for a wide range of end user services, including machine imaging, network troubleshooting, software troubleshooting, active directory, installs and upgrades
Execute work orders as per schedule and/or as directed by the Technology supervisor and completing the relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.

About You

We're seeking a skilled professional with excellent communication skills, a customer-centric focus, and the ability to drive ideas from concept to maturity. You'll thrive in our collaborative environment, where problem-solving and relationship-building are key.

You Will Also Ideally Possess

Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or relevant certifications. Candidates with extensive end user compute experience will also be considered favourably.
Experience in level 1 and 2 IT support and ServiceNow
Experience in working in industrial environments highly favourable
Australian C class driver’s license

This position is based at Olympic Dam and operates on 7 on / 7 off roster (day shift only), with flexible options for residential (Roxby Downs), Drive in Drive out (DIDO/BIBO) from South Australia regional areas or Fly In Fly out (FIFO) from Adelaide. You will be supported to learn and grow in your role by collaborating with experts and teams across the business, ensuring a safe and engaging working environment. We also offer relocation opportunities for the right candidate.

Role Overview

As an IT Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting, system repairs, and IT support. You will assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, ensuring smooth operations for end users.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Software Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
Component Replacement: Assist in replacing faulty components such as RAM, hard drives, motherboards, and power supplies.
System Installation & Updates: Install operating systems, drivers, and required software while ensuring all updates and security patches are applied.
Data Security & Backup: Secure and back up important data before performing repairs or system changes.
Testing & Validation: Conduct post-repair testing to confirm system stability and functionality.
Logistics & Inventory Management: Collect required parts from the warehouse, transport them to customer locations, and return faulty parts as needed.
Customer Assistance: Provide basic user support, repair reports, and guidance on system maintenance and best practices.
Device Handover: Ensure repaired devices are properly verified and returned to users.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding of hardware components, troubleshooting, and software installation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to IT support processes.
Good communication and customer service skills.
