Artists! You're invited to show your work in the 2027 Adelaide Fringe Festival at Gallery 1855 👀

It Starts in the Backyard is an exhibition open to artists of varying mediums to share their interpretation of the theme in this group show.

From barbecues and gatherings to planting, harvesting, observation and care, It Starts in the Backyard seeks works that reveal how everyday
experiences connect to larger stories and shared futures.

This multi-artist debut exhibition brings together three different generations and three distinct voices, delivering poetry, retro futurism and nostalgia using clay, metal and paint and print.

There are just a few spots left in these sessions with Clay's Cool at Gallery 1855 these school holidays 🥳

Create a decorative paintbrush (or two!) in this hands-on workshop using terracotta clay and glazes for school aged children.
Perfect for siblings, cousins and friend groups, this workshop is open to ages 5+ with templates, tools and guidance to suit all skill levels.

MESS/MAKER is open 🤩

Visit this wonderful celebration of children's creativity from Wednesday 24 June to Saturday 18 July.

We celebrated the opening of this colourful show on Saturday 20 June with a huge afternoon of over 350 visitors!

Thanks to everyone who came out on a winter's afternoon to support these young artists.

MESS/MAKER is the next exhibition launching on Saturday 20 June 🥳

Gallery 1855 will be open from 12pm - 3pm to celebrate this delightful display of over 100 works of art from artists aged 5 to 15. Entry is FREE.

Admire the skill and creativity on show and hang out in the studio to create something fun of your own! Artists and are hosting drop-in creative arts activities in the studio ✂️🎨

Are you a Children's University student? Bring your passport because Gallery 1855 is an official Learning Destination👩‍🎓

This exhibition is delivered with thanks to Camille from Wild Craft Studio, Ting from Enjoy Art and Jaz from Secret Staircase, as well as thanks to every parent and guardian who encouraged their child to create, and supported them to participate in this exhibition ✨

Visit the exhibition during opening hours, 12-5pm Wednesday to Saturday.
This exhibition is open from Wednesday 24 June, and closes 5pm Saturday 18 July.
