**Perfectionism in Pelvic Pain: Understanding overdoing, rigidity, and the pressure to get it right**
📅 Tonight | Monday 1 June 2026
⏰ 7:00pm AEDT

Pelvic pain is often shaped by more than symptoms alone. For many people, perfectionism, self-criticism, overdoing, shame, identity, trauma, and the invisible load of chronic illness can influence how pain is experienced, managed, and communicated.

Join psychologist and founder of **Ash & Bloom: Pelvic Health Collaborative**, **Laura Grace**, as she explores the emotional, behavioural, and nervous system impacts of persistent pelvic pain, with a focus on how clinicians can better recognise and respond to patterns of overdoing, rigidity, and pressure to “get it right”.

This practical session will help health professionals deepen their understanding of the psychological and relational aspects of pelvic pain and support more compassionate, person-centred care.

⏳ **Registrations close today. Secure your place now.**

Here’s a tightened final version:

Pelvic Pain Awareness Month reminds us that better outcomes require care that matches complexity.

When clinical understanding aligns with lived experience, care improves.

Pelvic pain is not limited to one group. It affects:
• women
• men
• adolescents and young people

And it often presents differently across individuals — shaped by biology, age, and lived experience.

Despite this, care is too often designed around a narrow patient profile.

For clinicians, this is a reminder to:
• recognise the diversity of presentations
• consider pelvic pain across all patient groups
• ensure care is inclusive, accessible, and appropriate

At the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia, we are here to support everyone affected by pelvic pain.

Because effective care starts with recognising who it affects.

Pelvic pain rarely exists in isolation.

Bladder, bowel, musculoskeletal and mental health symptoms can all overlap — which is why integrated, multidisciplinary care matters.

This Pelvic Pain Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the need for comprehensive, trauma-informed care that treats the whole person, not just one symptom. Your pain is real, we believe you.
