Last week, the Wakwakurna Kanyini team had the privilege of attending a number of NAIDOC Week celebrations. It was an incredible week filled with strong community spirit, culture, and connection.

We were honoured to join the celebrations at:

▪️ Pika Wiya Family Fun Day

▪️ NAIDOC SA March and Family Festival

This year’s theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, was felt in every gathering, reminding us of the strength we hold as a community.

2025 OUR SAAY Finals Recap 🎤

Wakwakurna Kanyini was honoured to partner with the Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People SA for this year’s OUR SAAY Competition — a powerful platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to share their voices, stories, and visions for the future.

As part of NAIDOC Week, the 2025 OUR SAAY Finals were held in Adelaide on Wednesday 9 July 2025, bringing together inspiring young speakers from across the state.

A huge congratulations to all the finalists — your strength, pride, and leadership embody this year’s NAIDOC theme:

“The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”
