Christies Beach parkrun Christies Beach parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8am every Saturday morning in Christies Beach.

Events are organised by local volunteers with support from parkrun HQ. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Christies Beach parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful beachside path and get physically active in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or
run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

🏴‍☠️ Christies Beach parkrun – Event #485
🗓️ 19 September 2026
☠️ Talk Like a Pirate Day Edition

Avast ye scallywags, sea‑dogs, landlubbers and parkrun pirates! The shores of Christies Beach were fair brimming with energy this morn’, as 248 hearty souls ran, jogged and walked the course. We welcomed 34 brave first‑timers takin’ their maiden voyage, and 17 cunning runners who carved out shiny new Personal Bests like treasure pulled from the deep. A fine fleet of 15 clubs joined the fun, makin’ our coastline feel like a bustling pirate port.

🏴‍☠️ Visitors from Distant Shores
We tipped our hats and raised our cutlasses to our interstate visitors from Brisbane and Sydney, who sailed far across the great blue to join our crew. And a hearty “Arrr!” to our local tourists from Torrens, Reynella East and Anstey Hill—may your travels be swift and your parkruns plentiful.

🏅 Milestones Worth More Than Gold
Three of our own claimed treasure today:

Prisayus Broadbent – 25 parkrun finishes!

Jane Inger – 100 mighty finishes!

Natalie Jones – an unofficial but glorious 200 finishes!

Raise yer tankards high, for these achievements shine brighter than any pirate’s hoard.
