~ 2026 Queen of Victories Feast ~
Last Sunday we celebrated the Queen of Victories feast at Christ the King Church, Lockleys SA.
This feast commemorates the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known to us as il-Bambina or il-Vitorja! This feast is deeply rooted in the hearts of the Maltese wherever they are, reminding us of the unfailing protection Our Lady has given us through the centuries, in particular during the Great Siege of 1565 and World War II. On both occasions, victory came to our forefathers on this particular feast, on the eighth of September.
The Maltese Chaplaincy Festivities Group would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make this a wonderful afternoon!
A special thank you goes to:
- Fr. Alfred and Fr. Arul Dev, Lockleys Parish Priest for celebrating mass with us.
- The Maltese Chaplaincy choir and pianist Nigel Stedman for providing the mass hymns and music.
- The Maltese Queen of Victories Band, under the direction of Chris Abdilla, for their musical programme and marches.
- Marthese Grima and Angela Taliana for running the children's corner.
- All the members and volunteers of the Maltese Chaplaincy Festivities Group who helped organise the feast and all activities.
And last but not least, to the many of you who lent a hand at church, in the kitchen and in the hall - we truly appreciate all your support!
