headspace Adelaide is currently recruiting volunteers for our family advocate roles (18+) 💚

These roles provide a meaningful opportunity to contribute lived experience and community perspectives to the governance, service planning, and continuous improvement of youth mental health services.

This experience is well suited but not limited to carers and family members interested in mental health, community services, psychology, social work, health, or advocacy, and offers strong professional and transferable skills.

Family Advocate meetings are scheduled quarterly with all training and support provided. If you know a someone who may be interested in contributing their voice to improve youth mental health services, please consider sharing the news! 📰

On Thursday 3 September, we're celebrating our annual Day of Fun, with all tickets discounted to $5. Whether you're bowling at Strike, putting your way around Holey Moley, or taking on the games at Archie Brothers or Hijinx Hotel, there's plenty of fun to be had.

With our proud partners at Funlab, creating moments of connection, joy and fun is what it’s all about. Every day, Funlab welcome people into their venues to spend time with friends, make memories and have a great time together.

By joining in the fun, you'll be helping make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families because every donation and every dollar of revenue raised on the day will go directly to headspace, helping more young people access the mental health support they need.

So, gather your friends, family or colleagues and enjoy a day out at Strike, Holey Moley, Archie Brothers or Hijinx Hotel.

The ABS Census will be available to be filled out on the 11th of August - find the answers to common questions below!

What is it?

Every five years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics counts every person and household in Australia. The next Census is on Tuesday 11 August 2026. The Census form asks questions about your age, country of birth, cultural background, living situation, work and education - The data is protected by law, which means no one can identify you.

Why is it important?

In the Census, every answer matters to help us understand what Australia needs now and into the future. This data allows organisations or services like ours to be able to identify gaps & needs within our communities to aid in keeping our service accessible to everyone.

As part of our ongoing multicultural project here at headspace Adelaide, we've worked on making sure we have a number of resources available in multiple languages to keep mental health support accessible. 🫶

This project included our Community Engagement team, Multicultural Clinician and Multicultural Peer Worker creating a brand-new fact sheet in Dari allowing many more young people to be able to learn how we can support 💚
